Neo Nouveau: Luxury Leather Goods by Andrew Diba - Official Affiliate Thread

Hello everyone!

I've been a (rather quiet) member of the forum for over 6 years now, and I'm excited to now be an affiliate here as well!

I chose to become an affiliate for a few reasons. I absolutely love quality, and while fabrics, tailoring, and shoes have a huge presence on the forum, I feel like high quality leather goods are very much lacking and under-represented.

What I hope to bring to this area of the forum is my experience. Having started from scratch, I've learned hard lessons about craftsmanship, service, and the needs of the customer. I made regular deliveries to a few retailers in the past, as well as making belts for a popular retailer's 'house brand', I understand all the different levels of 'handmade craftsmanship', what is and what isn't, how to spot poor workmanship, and a number of other relevant topics. I also hope to bring a unique approach where quality is never weighed against a bottom line. Ultimately, in an industry rife with buzzwords and marketing, I want quality to not only speak for itself, but I also want to be able to help consumers decipher its language.

While most of my work is bespoke or custom, I do have a small standard range of belts, cardholders, and wallets, available in a wide range of leathers from classics to exotics. Options like thread colour and edge colour are customizable at no additional charge, and if it's not in stock, I will find a way to get it! smile.gif

Additionally, I’m happy to be launching a range of jackets. The first offering is a suede A-1, and any future additions to the line-up are going to follow suggestions and requests from the community. The team I'm working with on these jackets has been in the industry for over 40 years and still personally oversee the production of each piece, so I'm confident the quality is up to the same standard I hold my own work.
These jackets are going to have standardized sizing (XS to XL), but with the addition of customizability in terms of sleeve length, body length, and more if needed.

All items include free shipping.

Thanks! I'm glad you mention that bag. I'm actually finishing up a version in American alligator, with a photo walk-through of it being built. Very excited to get that posted up soon.

Pricing depends on materials and interior customization. A French boxcalf version with an interior organizer would be around $2500-3000+. That would include most colours, fully leather lined, solid heavy brass locks (not like the sample locks I used in the photos), etc. Like all my work, it would also be 100% saddle-stitched by hand.

Welcome, Andrew.  I'm really looking forward to seeing the photoessay of that bag being made.

Cheers,

Fok.

Is there a standard price for the non-customized A-1? Been looking for another suede jacket.

Absolutely. I've been meaning to update that but I'm just waiting to confirm a few measurements.
I am starting these jackets at $800 shipped.

So, I think it's time to do a give-away soon everyone. How does a black sharkskin wallet sound, with a smooth red kidskin interior and gold pigskin pocket linings? biggrin.gif

I remember seeing you on the SWD side maybe 1-2 years ago, making leather goods. Great to see you see it through to this! icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Thanks! I decided I had done enough practice and training to be able to offer something unique to SF. Glad to see you're still posting here icon_gu_b_slayer[1].gif

Okay, pricing adjusted and finalized for the cardholders, including free express shipping in time for the holidays!

Base price, for calf, goat, kangaroo interior & exterior: $175
Add $50 for lizard, ostrich leg, or shark exterior = $225
Add $100 for stingray, ostrich, or shell cordovan exterior = $275
Add $125 for alligator or crocodile exterior = $300
Add $225 for alligator or crocodile exterior AND interior = $400

As always, if there's a particular or unusual colour combination you want, I will find a way to make it happen!

Great looking stuff, Andrew. Are you offering a range of colors on the A-1s, or just the dark red and black pictured? What's pricing on the slim computer bag? The green version you have up on your site is really handsome.

Thanks! I would love to offer the dozens and dozens of colours from the tannery, but issues arise with matching the trimming (which I'm working on) and the limited colours of MOP buttons. Of course, colours like grey would look fantastic with the black trim. If you have a specific colour in mind, please let me know! I will try and accommodate. Sizing chart should be up some time next week.

The slim computer bag is quite customizable (add hardware to straps, change width of bag, etc) Pricing starts at around $1800+ which includes some interior customization and your choice of calf or vegetable-tanned goat construction in a wide range of colours, as well as a lamb or goat lining smile.gif All saddle-stitched by hand.
