I'm in need of some dress boots, but don't want to break the bank. I ran across these from Polo on sale for $150.

Available here.

I'd love to hear your thoughts and/or recommendations.

Thanks.

That seems like good deal, if you like them. I love those boots. It's annoying, they don't say where they are made. I know some are benchmade in England by Alfred Sargent and Crockett & Jones, both of which are great.

That's a nice pair of boots and the price seems to be suitable to the quality.

Good price, but the sole looks pretty questionable to me. At that price, were I in the market, I'd consider taking the risk.

Edit: I didn't notice the OP was AAS. Yeah, get them. I suspect you know how to compensate for questionable quality with proper care. And those would go well with a lot of your outfits.

I'd consider spending an extra $50 or less to get them resoled with something more suitable for foul weather. My finger is itching.

I went ahead and bought the boots above. I also picked up these for $120. They have a rubber sole which should be good for foul weather.

Available here.

I found a 10% off code (CSS1802) which lowered the price a bit more. Also, I got free shipping. It ended up being about $255 for both pairs (stupid taxes). They should be here in 5-7 days. Now the waiting game.

I'm not sure that either of those, particularly the second pair, would qualify as dress boots.

I agree about the second pair. I think the first pair could be dressed up. I think my idea of dressy is not as formal as most. I concede your point.

I got the Ralph lauren norbecks as well. The heel cups are a bit annoying, but I think they look really nice. Quality is meh, but what can you expect for $90.

This thread is also relevant to my interests too!

I'd have to say the first pair could definitely be dressed up, though I don't think the second pair can be. Good for other situations though. The third pair look great too, too bad I've already got some dark boots.

I'm looking for some dressy boots around £100. Should be tan leather, and preferably with some sort of brogue design (Not really necessary, but nice to have).

Now these (£90) might look a tad bit extreme, but what do you guys think? Could it be pulled off with a suit, or are they too dramatic? (Considering the winklepicker toe and Cuban heel)

I definitely think that it is too aggressive for a suit. Too pointy and heely, unless one works for a mexican drug cartel. I like the general design though. Would look nice with a different last.

They look to me as a kind of mix between cowboy boots and chelsea boots. I agree on the aggressiveness though.

I guess I'll have to keep looking. I've seen some nice Jeffery West boots, but they're a bit pricey (Double my price range
