Can anyone tell me the width of an 8.5 cm tie at the 30 inch mark (30 inches up the blade)?

Conrad, do you have an action shot of this tie? I kinda like it but can't picture it properly in my mind.

Good piece. However, it does amaze me that even on a blog devoted specifically to Ivy-style, there are people who take the time to post comments that are either completely ignorant of the basics of (any) style, or trolling... I made sure of responding and 'defending' Conrad (as if anyone should need to...).

Some of those commenters are a lost cause. I'm sure they went from that site back to typing in all caps so everyone would see their YouTube video comments. What a bunch of knobs.

@B: Unfortunately no :(. It's quite a popular piece and I often wear it with my darker colored jackets.

Regarding the comments: Everyone is entitled for their own opinion... but it seems every other comment is people beating the dead horse regarding the shantung fabric. It's been around for decades so it's not some popular trend that I revived.

It's like... Oh you don't like the texture or slubs? Then don't buy it. You'll just look like a dumbass if you go make a post stating how much you dislike it.

:(

Would you say it's a autum/winter fabric or year round?

This. That was something I was talking to @jrd617 because around here most of the ties you are going to have access are shiny, real shiny. So people are not used to fabrics like shantung. Some of my friends have even told me something like: "Why are you still wearing that tie? It looks old." :eh: I just think: Yeah, dude, keep buying you skinny shinny ties from Zara and Massimo Dutti.

The fabric is light so Id say its a year round fabric but the colors are more suited for the evening ie. date night or drinks with the boys. It has a vintage charm to it smile.gif.

You could grow the most delicious peaches but someone out there will still hate peaches. Rather than having an open mind, most people insist on expressing their disapproval of the fabric, which I find amusing because it actually leads to higher sales numbers (based on what I've noticed). So in many instances, instead of trying to rationalize, I sit back and break out the popcorn.
