Haha, I don't own anything in plaid but this one really caught my eye when I saw the fabric. The subtle mix of brown/blue really makes it work.

that plaid is awesome.

Please show a picture of it in the wild. Found my way here via the good taste thread. These ties look great. Definitely ok with slubby on the ties.

Got some folks hating on shantung over in that thread :dozingoff:. I can understand if they don't like the slubby texture but calling it a seasonal fabric is odd to me since it's a fairly heavy fabric

Received the knitted ties from Conrad a few days ago. The quality is superb. Highly recommended!

for some reason the slubby texture gets grouped with the raw and sometimes slubby texture of linen, so it becomes a warm weather tie, but ill wear mine all year round thankyouverymuch.

I agree with this. No reason not to wear raw silk year round.

I read about it in there but I don't care about the rules, I will use it all year round.

Alright so the chocolate shantung will be restocked in 8.5 cm width next week. Also got a PoW check coming in.

Update:

Alright so once my current solid knits (German made) are sold out, chances are some colors won't be restocked. 2 colors have already sold out and a few are very close to being gone. I intend to cut the number of current solid colors down from 10 to around 4-5 staple colors that will be available year-round, with 1-2 seasonal colors. Dotted/melange designs will take their place. For those on-the-edge, know that these are quite possibly the crunchiest knits you will ever own.

I've already planned which solids I will restock, but I do want to give some love back to all my customers for their orders and to who are interested in seeing more colors. It's almost that time of year again so I'm offering everyone a chance to pick and pre-order their own.

From now until Christmas Day (DEC 25), I will accept personal orders for any of the colors shown below. FULL deposit required.

SOLID COLORS ONLY. Keeping it simple for now. This is your chance to order these very distinct knits in a color that isn't offered by me or anywhere else.

PRICE: $80 USD PER (You may order up to 6, per order) + SHIPPING (flat rate - $5 domestic, $13 International)

DELIVERY DATE: I will submit your personal orders along with my own. Expect late Jan/Feb 2014 delivery. It's unlikely but you will receive a refund if your color is out of stock and/or unavailable before the scheduled delivery date.

Please email info@conradwu.com with your color (please use the numbers as reference), shipping address, and Paypal email address. An invoice will be sent to you on DEC 27. Payment MUST be received before Jan 1, 2014.

COLORS THAT ARE CURRENTLY OFFERED ON MY WEBSTORE: 1 navy, 2 dark blue, 7 maroon, 10 orange, 11 brown (sold out), 13 rust, 18 forest green, 19 olive, 23 black, 24 grey (sold out)

NOTE: 9 is bright red,  14 mustard, 15 ecru, 16 yellow, 17 cream, 25 white, 28 magenta

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

What strikes me about the tie selection here are the interesting fabrics (and kudos on 8.5 cm to 9 cm widths). Well done. Any chance you might say something more about how the ties are made (are you sewing them yourself)?

I'm an academic, so limited in my clothes budget, but these ties are seriously tempting me to restructure my budget!
