No one with an account on this forum should have the audacity to criticize someone else's spending, particularly on fashion.

EDIT: I do think this belongs more in CE

We are prohibited from discussing the news (public information)? We are prohibited from discussing human decision making, human nature, social activity, commerce?

I never assumed an interest in style required the embrace of reckless financial choices.

The hostility toward criticism of profligacy is interesting, informative, and sad.

EDIT: MOWT, I realize your comment is most likely tongue in cheek.

It is, but to be fair, nurses make pretty good money. It might not be all that reckless.

EDIT: Honestly, after re-reading Alkydrinker's posts, this should just go straight to DT

But in the context of this thread, the issue is that it she were a white person of the same age and income making the same purchase the store or the police wouldn't have any problem with it.

It shot off in different directions like a bajillion posts ago. None of the thoughts/opinions I expressed are Bayesian by race.

I had written up a defence and started to get all serious, but honestly you made a glib remark about this student on the internet and I would DIE to protect your right to be flippant on the internet.

Why else would we even HAVE the internet??

Oh yeah, pornography.

Forgot about pornography.

Nursing students can also be heirs to millions, the question is would a white person get the same treatment?

PS: this thread doesn't belong here

There are only 55 posts in the whole thread. They're all about race.
None of mine are. Feel free to check. I jumped in when I saw someone comment on their bizarra SA-spite activites, and commented on it.
Ok but when the context is "people are getting treated unfairly because of their race" and you chime in with "well they were doing something stupid" the obvious inference is that you think they deserved to get treated that way. The original point is not that they were doing something smart, but that regardless of what they were doing, if they were of a different race, their behavior wouldn't have earned then the same treatment.

I never chimed in about the persons race OR the person's treatment, or any mix of the two. I had zero participation in that initial/OP part of the thread. You appear to be trying to latch me on to this context (I don't know why), when in fact I was only involved in an excellent derail portion.

The only facts at play in my echo of TRINI's "irresponsibility" comment were 1) 21 y/o 2) nursing student 3) 2500 purse. If you want to suggest that race is a factor in my criticism of financial irresponsibility you can do so but you would be wrong.

Referencing the OP topic/race at this point is akin to referncing mafoofan's apt in the mafoofan apt thread. The ship has sailed.

Who cares, this is going straight to DT anyways.
