Ok guys, I think this is a great idea. Who knows if will last or not, and we will probably be laughed at by the rest of the forum, but *******. I love seeing what everybody puts together in terms of fits with their thrift store finds. There won't really be any rules except that at least half of your fit has to be thrifted. Other then that, go nuts! SW&D, CM, hobo chic! Whatever.

Unknown tweed waist coat, $2.99
PRL by Crockett and Jones cap-toe boots, $7.99

Vintage glen plaid and gun-check topcoats, I forget how much I paid for them, but it was most certainly under $10. Of course, with alterations, it was a bit more.

Weird posting in here because I'm not a thrift thread regular (I don't flip stuff yet, and don't have room to take pictures of my finds), but I like this idea and want to make it happen.

Here's what I wore yesterday for the Friday Challenge. Everything you see here is thrifted, except for the trousers, the shoes, and the schmuck running around in an ascot, not that nobody's tried to donate him.

Late '70s wannabe PRL jacket (you fool nobody, "Austin Scott")
Tie Rack ascot
Isaia shirt
JCP trousers (clearance ~$12)
Cole Haan kicks (outlet, for like 60% off, when I needed a pair of dress shoes I could walk around for six hours in that weren't my AEs or beater Weejuns).

Feedback is, of course, welcome -- though the ascot is A) a bit of a joke for the Friday Challenge (which I will still lose, despite the smaller than average field) and B) something I willfully ignored all good sense in wearing, so you won't convince me it was a mistake, and I don't need to be convinced that it's crazy.
