I think that at last Nataku is old-school enough that it would be hippie instead of hipster.

Off topic, sorta.  But it got me thinking, with the weather so drastic in Minnesota, do you guys have bums at all in the streets?  Its so damn cold, can anyone live outside overnight?

I can't help but think of this as I drive by them right now...

We have a pretty solid system for helping the less fortunate folks (shelters, back to work programs, mental health resources, etc), so yeah, we actually have plenty of homeless people. There are a decent amount of shelters in Minneapolis proper, so they're not really outside that much during the winter. Gave a coat I had just thrifted to a guy the other day who was by the side of the road on one of the really cold days. Can't even imagine what that would be like.

Now that's a class move...

I witnessed a Goodwill in Houston give a wheelchair to someone in need with instructions to bring it back when they didn't need it anymore (a women had broken her leg).

I think this wall in my basement will confirm that.

+1 on what MyMainMan said regarding the homeless situation here. There are a lot of shelters and tons of programs to help people get back on their feet. This winter has been brutal (though these were common 20+ years ago), so I can't even imagine someone trying to live out of their car in this.

In the field, Chicago burbs, came across two Tom James royal classic suits with custom made tags for Jim McMahon. Do you think the odds are good that it's da bears?

Perfect timing. Please don't flame me too hard.

I'm trying to figure out how to wear a silk square scarf (it's thrifted of course) with the chambray (thrifted) and denim I have on.

Tell me how off I am. Should I just leave the scarf hanging in my closet?
1- cowboyish: (Click to show)
2- proper/more classic: (Click to show)
3- I don't know what to call it (Click to show)
4- back to my eastern European roots (Click to show)

I'm leaning towards #3

And yes, MZhammer, let's do a MN meetup. Who do we all have?

me

Nataku

ilikethelights

MZhammer

Schmidtdalton

dahl5yankees (is he from MN?)

any others? I'm totally down. Chick-fil-a is gross though. Let the East Coasters have that. We can all go to Matt's or something and then hit up the worst thrift store I've ever been to, the St. Vincent De Paul on Lake Street. We can set up a prize and anyone who finds anything worth buying wins.

I'm in!
