Lady Snowblood is where its at

Also, watched 'Dolls' the other day, didn't like it as much as the other Kitano movies i've seen, but Yohji's costumes were incredible.
I was a big Beat Takeshi fan in college. I discovered him through movies like "Violent Cop" and "Sonatine." A Japanese girl I knew saw the VHS tapes sitting on my table and told me about how he was (then) known as a comedian in Japan. Of course I didn't believe her at first.

I've just gotten into Yohji's clothing and thought it was really cool to see that he's done some costuming for a few movies I've seen, and more that I need to see. I like it when planes of interest intersect like that. Life makes sense for a few minutes...

dl-ed Harakiri bluray rip. Bout to wach. It looks beautiful.

alright this is a gem. Kinda glad I just now seen it cause I probably wouldn't have the patient for slow meditative **** when I was younger. Also noticed Takashi Miike did a remake. How was that? It looks exactly the same.

Add Samurai Rebellion to your list.

Haven't bothered to watch the remake yet. Don't really see the point.

Only thing on youtube is the annoying trailer so

to watch as a double feature with Corbucci's The Great Silence released the same year

Haven't seen this one yet. Thanks.

One more for now:

Kiru (1968)

And yes, the trailer uses the Yojimbo score. It was their Lux Aeterna, apparently.

Watched Room 237 over the weekend. Since The Shining is one of my favorite movies of all time, I knew I'd get a good kick out of it. Some of the theories seems plausible, many, however, are just preposterous.

been watching Kagemusha is parts as it's quite long. i wonder if i'll like it more than Ran , which I thoroughly enjoyed.

and only because this is a new film thread, x-post

i've just watched this. stunning cinematography, the landscape shots are breathtaking and the dizzying heights leave you with a sense of anxiety. a powerful feudal lord divides his empire among his heirs, madness ensues...
