White shirt, white square, black bow tie. Then tuck in the pocket flaps.

A fancy dress party, a clown or a good bonfire.

I think I've seen this same jacket in varying colors posted here at least half a dozen times. Always by n00bz.

You can't wear this casually in a remotely traditional manner.

You can't wear it formally in a remotely traditional manner.

Swap "traditional" for "conservative," and I agree, but loud dinner jackets have precedent, and I don't think they're automatically in bad taste, though of course they are dangerous waters.

dressing this down is easy... for a evening out you can do black shirt jeans/black pants and black loafers... dress it up by adding black bow tie, wont look as formal as the shite shirt option

Thanks that's interesting i was thinking about black shirt  but i want to add a pocket square to it what would you suggest?

PS. Isn't the black bowtie and black shirt too little more like no contrast at all?

When you are wearing a purple dinner jacket there is no need for contrast... let the jacket be your contrast an select a monotone black look... pocket square is not necessary for this look but if you do i would go with a black on black pattern...

I know this sounds like a lot of black but ive done it with other colored dinner jackets and it looks sleek and bold

Thanks for the advice. I much appreciate.

If you're to do a pocket square, do a black silk single point.  Don't add a new colour.  Wear with all black, and go to a club.  Show up in it to my black tie Christmas party, and receive no invitation next year :P
