How can i tell if my zegna suit if a fake? - Page 2

The question is what pinch test did you do? I find the most reliable test on a full canvas suit is to check near the bottom of the jacket for the canvas layer in the middle. The pinch test is accurate, but it took me awhile to get the "feel" to distinguish the differences in fabric layer, especially on some of the more well-fused suits.

i wouldn't swear off ebay as a source of good low-priced stuff, just know the sellers or find out someone who has dealt with them. i generally don't trust someone from outside the US, but i did buy a shearling from a guy in france and it was a-OK.

Now a question for the board. On the rare occasions that I do see suits on ebay that are clearly fake, I would love to report them. But the problem is, how do I prove it to ebay. I know it for certain, based on my experience, but how am I going to convince ebay? That's the problem. I want these jerks kicked off, they harm innocent buyers and sellers, but the question is, how??
Please, please, please, someone agree that advertising the forum if just for to provide this typoe of objective Q & A service (the forum would be impervious to lawsuits because it just allows private members to posts their opinions, and does not implicitly or explicitly endorse those opinions, which are proferred as such - could one of the lawyers on the board clarify this?)

Speaking of fakes. Take a look at those two auctions and pay attention to the 'Made in Italy' tags pictured on the suits. The suits in question are from two different sellers in Germany. Are those Armani and Zegna ? Zegna suit Armani suit Stunning similarity
Well, Zegna does make the Armani Collezione line... koji

Well, my apologies to the Germans then. My (now questionable) intuition found this endless supply of suits with fancy labels strange and the specimens I had looked at were rather generic to my eyes. Oh - and sorry for the hijack of the thread B

I, the king of thread hijack accusations do not see this thread being hijacked.

Speaking of fake Zegna's... I'm interested in buying a Z Zegna suit from SUITLATEST - would I be getting a real Z Zegna, or a fake knockoff? http://suit-latest.com/ermenegildo-z...006-p-603.html

If it is fake, is it really a big deal? Such a good price.

Please advise. Thanks!

So, you mean to tell me that you don't care whether this suit is fake or not? If you found an identical looking suit at H&M that was not on sale but had the same price (given the description, it would probably be the same quality), would you still see it as that good of a deal? Are you going to constantly brag about and show people your 'zegna' label? I think you may want to read a little about anchoring, and how easily you can be mislead by "list" prices on items which seem to have heavy discounts.
