While I understand what Clags means when he says he wants to able to look at pictures of himself twenty years from now, and now have a wtf reaction, I also understand why one would not want to sacrifice looking current just for future considerations of how his present look may seem in the rear view mirror. And should one look back at old pictures with some feeling of chagrin, at least it will be tempered with the knowledge that at the time, he looked good.
And though I've never put it into words, I think that this is exactly what I strive for.

I don't think that there is an either-or. There is a middle ground where you look both "timeless" and current, as paradoxical as that sounds. I want the majority of my fits to fall into this narrow region. A few probably do, and as I get better at dressing and build my wardrobe, hopefully they'll fall in there with greater regularity.

:fistbump:

I am definitely on board with that, and I think that that narrow margin is probably where I generally try to be as well. Some days more successfully than others.

Ah, it's not meant to be an ongoing thread (though it is certainly welcome to go on as long as it wants). We'll be writing another soon, doing maybe two installments a month, time permitting. It may at some point move to blog format, but for the first several articles at least, it'll be in CM. I think we both like the idea of contributing content to this forum, so perhaps all future installments will be posted here. Who knows.

Though since you were kind enough for the bump, feedback on how we can make this better is certainly welcome.

I prefer your more salacious posts.

(though the sagacious one was pretty damned good as well)
