I'm looking for a pair of black beatle type boots. Not really looking for a straight chelsea, but side zip, lower cuban heel. Any recommendations?

I know David Preston is out there but no nothing about quality or where it's manufactured. Anyone else?

Thanks.

"Beatwear" or something like that make a bunch of replicas of different Beatles boots. not sure of quality. I think I've seen a Sergio Rossi boot with a lower cuban heel. They are pretty good quality. Let us know if you find something.

Will do. I saw that Beatwear store, but am kind of skeptical.

Thanks for the Rossi tip.

Cool, appreciate the link. Really looking for a side zip and preferably a low cuban heel. Picky, I know, but looking for something a little unique and more "pop" than the usual chelsea boot.

Nate, have you tried the David Preston boots? Those look pretty nice --- although the heel is probably a bit taller than you wanted.

just spend the last hour looking for boots. here's a few more that might work.

TOM FORD

ST CRISPINS - not a zip but w/e

MARGIELA "Bachelor Boot"

LIDFORT

GUCCI — some have cuban heels, others flat

SANTONI

GAZIANO & GIRLING — very subtle angle on the heel

YSL / SLP / DIOR -- too high

the low cuban heel seems pretty rare. some of the bespoke shoemakers make similar heels if you want to go that route.

John's boots here are just about perfect.

beatwear are ok, the leather is very nice but they're very hard to repair if the stitching goes (to be fair I did kick them off all the time) also the good year welt is dubious
if you want a good pair of beatle boots grinders are my personal favourite, they are very sturdy and have a sleeker
and more elegant look
