You wouldn't happen to have a pair of Gobi's for comparison?  I always felt my Dundee's were sleeker than my Gobi's, and now I wonder how they would compare to the Gustin.  I guess I should do a side by side comparison (Dundee vs. Gobi) like you, but I don't have a Gustin for comparison (was waiting for a review like yours before I would even think about taking a shot at the Gustin).  My guess is the Gobi is in between.

Definitely in between the G boot and the Dundee!

Definitely the speed hooks are too close together and there should be three instead of four in that space.  I received my Inferno Tans today and will write up a review and post photos next week when I get back from a short vacation.  One of my immediate observations was WTF! when I went to lace the speed hooks.  Overall the boots seem pretty impressive but I've got to spend more time looking closely and write a proper review.

I personally prefer these to my other boots that have 3 speedhooks. With my AE/RW boots, I always have to take the laces out of the hole just below the third speedhook in order to get my foot into the boot. With the G boot, I only have to loosen some tension on the hole below the fourth speedhook.

I do agree that the spacing of the G boot's speedhooks are a bit cramped, but not annoyingly so for my preference. I just have to change my typical speedhook lacing technique from a "right hand, left hand" swinging motion, to more of a "cross, pull, cross" motion if that makes any sense at all lol.

Been kicking myself for not buying that ever since it was released.

That's the first one I've seen sewn up.

Hiding your wallet from yourself might be a good idea.
