Curb your enthusiasm did a damn funny episode awhile back in which they had a whole ordeal about "No Fly zone" underwear and men's preferences on fly or not.  Definitely getting reminded of that on this thread.  For me, the no fly is not a deal breaker.  I think most people would adjust fairly quickly to not having a fly if they were to give it a shot.  I would have preferred some additional color options, though that is probably coming later.

I agree I think it looks good man. Plus I think you might get some stretching over a few wears, and after that I think you'll hardly notice the tightness.. Just my opinion.

I decided to send them back.  I know it is stylish to wear chinos in this fitment, but I know with how tight they feel I will end up not wearing them much if ever and they will just hang in my closet.  If I'm going to spend that much money I want to wear these chinos or jeans as much as possible.  Gustin replied within 24 hours (like they always do - again, really awesome customer service I've had with them now in probably 5 different conversations!!) and I have my return number so will try to get them shipped tomorrow.

Matt from Gustin provided a helpful link on altering jeans with some nice info for guys with bigger thighs - though I don't think of my thighs as big, the article made me realize my thighs are probably at least a couple inches bigger (if not more) than average.  I will be trying a chino with a 34" straight fitment next.  This will give me another inch in the thigh which in reality should still fit pretty snug, but not so tight I would feel uncomfortable and not wear them.  And then I will just alter the waist and taper below knee if I think it needs the taper.

Matt from Gustin also cancelled my in flight jeans orders that were about to ship and gave me store credit so that's all good.  Those would not have worked.  I'll probably try the jeans in a 35 straight once I have the chinos working.  Then just alter the jeans like I did the chinos.  This approach should give me a relaxed fit I desire with proper waist/butt fitment after the tailor altering in theory.

Thanks all for the comments and feedback!

Oh I have worn no fly boxer briefs many times, and I never adjusted.

My huddled masses yearn to be free.

The yearning to be free is exactly the reason a fly is not a great idea in underwear.  I went through 5 brands of boxers with fly before I found one design where appendages didn't somehow figure out how to weave a path through the flaps and out the fly.  This quickly becomes uncomfortable, causes chaffing, and eventually causes me to do a little dance and adjustment to put it back inside.  I've never tried underwear without a fly but it would eliminate this issue.  And probably its easy to just stretch them down to use a urinal.  So while I was initially outraged at the lack of a fly, after thinking about it more it seems worth trying and possibly superior.

I'm more concerned about modal fabric instead of cotton.  I've not tried that before.  Also I'm a firm believer that underwear should be washed on hot, not warm which fails to kill bacteria and fungus causing accumulation and problems such as jock itch.  I wonder if the fabric will be harmed by the hot water?

If possible I'd also like to see (organic?) cotton undies

lol, all euphemisms aside, I need a fly. Wrestling with buttons on heavy denim at a urinal can be challenging enough without having to worry about wresting with the underwear too. No biggie though

No pun intended?

I greatly dislike boxers and boxer briefs, and will stick to F&T for now.

Have many people received their Gustin boots from the first batch?

Waiting excitedly for my Inferno Tan Classic Boot!

Getting slightly worried they are having a problem as the status postings said they were delivered back in December and then there have been updates about delays in shipping due to the holidays.  But that was over 3 weeks ago.

I bet Josh stole my Inferno Tan's for himself.

Anyone received Inferno Tan yet?

lol, nice

No, that wasn't intended. I just mean that I'm satisfied with my mediocre box store undies.

fly on undies?  hell no.

Japan Silk Slub came and went faster than a trip to the drycleaners.  Which happened inside 45 mins... and well shit they gone....

Received my flannel shirt that was delivered to the wrong mailbox

Got a medium slim fit and perhaps large slim fit or a standard medium would have been more appropriate

If washed and dried what should I expect as far as shrinking?
