Gustin has stated that they use a small factory that also produces for Japanese repro companies. From their workshirt product listing copy:
Quote:
For production on these, we're teaming up with a small shop that exclusively sews reproduction workwear for Japanese brands - always above $300 per shirt. Their work is immaculate, and we're excited to be partnering with them.

These are likely longstanding relationships - at least older than the relationship with Gustin - and the factory may have obligations to fulfill those customers' orders before they can offer any excess manufacturing capacity to Gustin. No additional capacity --> no workshirt campaigns.

Obviously Gustin doesn't owe us anything here, including an explanation of why workshirts haven't been offered lately. They decide which campaigns to run, and their customers decide which campaigns to back; the relationship is that simple. At the same time, I wouldn't mind hearing from @joshgustin as to whether there are even plans (maybe "intent" is a more appropriate term here) to make more workshirts.

CXL boots are in stock in some sizes... unfortunately they have raised the price $50!

Has anyone received the Horween Dublin sneakers?  I'd love to see some other pics from some buyers.

The sneakers that made it to stock had a similar mark up.

Yep it is longer and crooked. I touched on the alignment in a previous post but had overlooked the length I suppose.

What's the call sizing wise on the slip on sneakers relative to Vans? Or if anyone has EP tennis trainers, that would be a helpful comparison for me as well. Thanks!

Me either. It's a bunch of bologna. Gustin states they prefer "traditional" styles. I take them at their word. Gustin sells what Gustin wants to sell, and that's not workshirts and two-pocket shirts. Pretty myopic.

Exophobe had the correct answer in his post a few days ago. We haven't seen a lot of demand for workshirts when we run them. I love them and think they're one of our most finely made garments, but it seems to be more of a niche product among our customers. We try to be sensitive to what works for our factory as well. Sending them very small amounts of a style is hard for them to handle.

I'm game to run them again for this crew. You guys drum up some demand, I'll run the campaign and we can see how it goes. We need to get at least 100 orders to make it reasonable to send to our sewer. Sound good? If yes, point me in the direction of some fabric you'd like and I'll come back with options.

Well this ought to be interesting.

Thanks for the response; it's very much appreciated. Probably my top two choices would be the Cone indigo selvedge canvas that's been used for jeans and chinos in past campaigns and the indigo waffle dobby that was just launched as a button-down (although this may be harder sell since a bunch of people have probably already backed the button-down version).

I also wouldn't mind seeing another run of the Japan heavy black, since the factory ran out of fabric before mine could be produced during the last run. Basically any selvedge fabric other than a traditional indigo warp / white weft denim or chambray would be cool in my book, although I always prefer a fabric that will evolve with wear like a rope-dyed indigo or a sulfur-dyed black or charcoal. I'm also in favor of tonal stitching over contrast - the indigo thread you guys have used in the past would look killer with the Cone indigo canvas or the indigo waffle dobby.

Offhand, I'm thinking it might make sense to get reddit involved as well if we want to hit the 100 backers mark.

Super Heavy Chambray would be another good option worth considering. If we do a poll, we should definitely include that.

All good options. Would also add some of those dead stock heavy weight flannels

Rainbow Nep. I know they've done the button downs like the fruity pebbles shirt (I think there have been white, off-white, grey and brown?), but I'd love a workshirt with some crazy pops. Something with a twist of color. Rainbow nep, multi-color weft, even some sort of heathered weft like the IndigoxGrey ones with the recycled-yarn weft.

...The rainbow nep jeans are one of my favorite pairs and are so friggin comfortable.

Tonal stitching is a must IMO.  I personally would like to see a silk slub denim WS, or other textured/interesting colour denim.  (i.e. not a indigo blue denim)

The Dobby is also great fabric.

Def get Reddit on board.
