I have! The Louis is almost perfect (the Tony is a little more wallet than I'm looking for). If the Louis had two small sides instead of a small/large combo, it would be just what I'm looking for. Someone also recommended the card wallet from Mitchell Leather, which looks very good as well. So I have options (thanks to those who helped me find them). The appeal of Gustin offering something along these lines is, or course, the price advantage of crowd sourcing. I don't expect Gustin to drop everything so they can make me my special wallet request, so I'll probably buy something from Ashland or Mitchell. Thanks to those here who helped me find what I'm looking for!

Just got the Loomstates in the mail. Anyone else find them very small? I haven't measured them against the fit guide but the 38 slim I ordered is smaller than my 35 regular slates. Surely that can't be right?

I don't have any myself but another denim thread somewhere else someone indicated their 38s measured a hair under 35"

That's doesn't bode well for post shrink fit!!

Right, because being loomstate aren't they meant to have a pretty unpredictable/dramatic shrink? Or did I misunderstand what that term entails?

You may want to check out Saddleback's (another SF affiliate) Business / Credit Card Wallet.

I have the Tobacco and Chesnut, they're great. The Tobacco has a 'dry' hand, much like CXL leather.

the reviewer on rawrdenim also noted that the loomstates fit slimmer than usual ... perhaps you should return before soaking

There is no way a 38 should measure like a 35 pre soak

Considerably smaller than a 35!

Thanks Wes - that's a good recommendation. The price is great too at $21. My only reservation is that I was hoping to find something made in the states, and Saddleback does their manufacturing in Mexico. Nothing against the quality of products manufactured there - just that I'm really trying to support the struggling US economy and businesses which choose not to send their manufacturing elsewhere.

I found that post-soak, my loomstates didn't shrink all that much at all in the waist, and pre-soak measured 2-3 inches smaller than tag size to (about 32" starting waist, on a 34 slim, I'm not factoring in Gustin's suggestion that they start an inch small, so 34 slim should have been 34.5"). Post-soak, they were maybe 31-31.5" on the waist, but the rest of the jeans shrunk significantly (they all started at their original tagged sizes). My hunch is that they got steamed and or ironed at some point in the sewing process and accidentally shrunk them ahead of time. And, on top of that, it was a *hot* soak I did, scalding hot. So I think that many people will find, at the end of their soak, that they get jeans that get exactly where they thought they wood, at 3" smaller in their waist than the tagged size.

In fact, I think I'm going to give mine a second hot soak, because they actually are still just a hair loose.

Moral of the story, if you loomstates came in 3 sizes too small in the waist, but the thighs and cuffs are the right size, you might not find too much shrinkage post-soak. But of course, ymmv.

Measured size is just over 36.25 against 37.5 on my 35 straights (worn 4 times) I'm torn, if they won't shrink they'll work but if they shrink by Gustins expected amount they'll be a 34! Prolly best to return eh?

I can expect my greenlines to stretch a bit in the waist right?

Most raw denim stretches about an inch in the waist with wear, but some can go up to 2 in. Just make sure they're not so tight that you're putting an inordinate amount of stress on the cotton.

I've seen a number of people saying that their loomstates were significantly smaller than they expected. If you can fit into them as is, wear them for a week or two, give them a cold soak and then continue giving them cold soaks and washes for the remainder of the time you wear them.
