Color 8 Hightops. Really happy with the way these came out.

#72 The Grey Silk has posted again.

I highly recommend these jeans.  One of my most favorite pants ever.  The fabric is beautiful.  It has a really nice and unique streaky medium grey color with a special sheen from the silk.  They are light, cool, and comfortable.  And the bright blue selvedge ID is very nice.

Be warned though, it is much shinier than expected, at least for me.

Question about Mystery picks:

How many people who have purchased them have NOT been satisfied? Anyone receive something and been bummed out? I've thought about getting something for the surprise factor and to liven up my wardrobe, seems I always buy the same stuff, but concerned I would open the package and be disappointed.

Anyone who bought mystery picks please chime in.

Well, their mystery offerings a few months ago (for Halloween I think) kind of told you exactly what to expect.  Indigo denim in various weights or chambray's I think.  There were a few potential options but you knew what you were getting into.

Grab bags are a different story.  They can be anything Gustin has sold and you have much less of an idea.  I think a good way to narrow it down is to check the stock store for what they have available in your size.  It's likely one of those options.  The benefit to a grab bag is you can get a cool item for around $65 and you get the sensation of opening an unknown gift.  Downside is you can be stuck with an item that doesn't appeal to you at all.

With Gustin, I too tend to be attracted to the same type of items.  What I do to avoid that is hold off on backing anything for a few days and make sure I really want it.  Also, I read each email they send me and go through all the items, even the ones that don't catch my eye at all.  Lastly, before backing, I try to analyze my current wardrobe and make sure I'm not getting anything redundant.  Check out some of the more unique denims and see if you'd like to give them a shot.  I'm personally a sucker for any type of grey denim.  Good luck.

I've taken this advice, think I'd be a US 9.5 but just backed a 9 as it's easier to remove some foot than add to it. Also reports and updated sizing info say to size down if in doubt.

Another query, it seems Gustin have never done a black waxed chore coat - they've had charcoal a few times but no black. Have I just missed it? They do the trucker in black waxed so they have the material...

Soft and fairly light.  They wear well in the warmer months.

Interesting, I actually found them to wear warm for their weight. I don't think silk breaths well

The caramel and coffee chinos look mighty tempting.

I've only ordered from their denim grab bag once. I got a pair of 11oz Cone Superlights. I would've preferred a unique Japanese fabric, so I wasn't exactly thrilled, but the upside was that I didn't have any lightweight denim so I figured it was good to have at least one pair for the summer months. The fit is spot on and they're definitely a quality pair of jeans, just not what I had in mind.

With that said, I won't be ordering from their denim grab bag anymore.

Just received my Gustin White Low Tops.

I've not worn a tennis shoe/sneaker in years.  I wear mostly medium to higher end boots.

The quality of these Gustin Low Tops is great for a sneaker.  I love the leather interior and exterior construction.  Looks and feels solid and high quality.

Fit is good and I'd say right on spec.  I'm a 10C but sometimes find myself in 9.5D or 10.5B.  These Gustins are 10's and they fit me well.  I can see why people with wide feet (E+) may feel the width is too tight.  A D width should be fine and the shoe will conform to the foot.  I would say B-D widths should order their standard length, rounding to the nearest whole number.

One quality observations was that the white leather has some unusual wrinkles that I don't prefer.  I don't think its a huge deal and I'll watch to see how it appears as the shoes break in and wear.  Maybe I can take a good before wear photo and post.

I love some of the darker leathers such as the Horween #8 and Horween Dublin.  But I'm not sure I love the combo of the thick white sole edge with the darker leather.
