IMO the t-shirt fits are horrible. I backed an XL sweatshirt. I'm 5'10'' 185 lbs. XL classic fit button downs fit me great.

For the first time since I started buying from Gustin products, their QC has bitten me.  I ordered the striped t-shirt variety pack in Small, which their size chart shows as 17" shoulder, 39 3/4" chest, the shirts I received are labeled Small, but with 18 1/2" shoulder and 43" chest.  It's a damn shame, because I had been looking for some decent striped shirts for a while.  After already waiting an extra month past the expected delivery time, I now don't know if I should send them back for store credit and either accept that I can't get what I actually wanted (or wait months and months more if they do come up again) or keep an incorrect product and hope I can shrink them in the wash.  Either way, I'm irritated and disappointed, considering I've never gotten anything wrong from them before.

Hi Josh,

I've been wearing my Gustin Dark Oak Trucker (unlined) around central Europe for the last few weeks.  Its been great in moderate cold and rain and looks stylish with jeans.

I do have two comments after extensive use in typical conditions.

The pockets need some design modifications.

I like to put my wallet or mobile phone in an interior pocket, particularly if I'm feeling nervous about being robbed such as on a busy train.  But the Gustin trucker inside pocket is so tiny that nothing fits  I believe this pocket should be large enough to fit a a passport in your nice leather passport case which I love, a standard double fold wallet, or securely hold an IPhone 6 or 6+.  I don't think I can fit more than a money clip in the current inside pocket.

My second comment is also related to pockets.  The main outer side pockets are difficult to access.  I'm not sure of the best solution.  Maybe the opening needs to be slanted or moved forward.  Basically its uncomfortable to reach my arms far enough back to insert my hands to get something from them.  Also the angle causes it to be uncomfortable to leave my hands in the pockets, which I often like to do.

If you make a few improvements such as these, I will likely buy a second Gustin trucker in another color.  Although the dark oak is a really great color.

Thanks

Expanding the interior pocket would be great but its unlikely theyll redesign the outer pockets on their best selling jacket

Have ANY of the shoes been received yet?

Seinna low top looks good.

Anyone else a little surprised by the sweatshirt offering? You gotta love that pricepoint but the fabric gives me a little bit of a "you get what you pay for" vibe. I'm NOT saying I'm disappointed, it just wasn't what I was expecting. I was thinking something in a tubular/loopwheel design, heavier, and perhaps outside of the general colors.

I backed the navy to test the fit/shape in hopes that some cool fabrics may be en route. Hopefully the production doesn't get delayed so I can check the fit while there is still time in the season.

No shoes yet... I'm guessing it will be a late Oct or early Nov delivery for the first run of shoes

I do agree with the sweatshirts, they're pretty basic in all regards, but I also backed one to test out (quality/fit).  Down the road, heavier options & different colors would be good, and i'm guessing we'll see hoodies coming up at some point.  We'll see where this product line goes for Gustin.

I was really hoping for something like that too! Something that really competes with the bigger names (and this is something that absolutely no one can complain they are copying - it's a staple and G can rock that)... I'm sure it's just because it's the first round of them, but give me an vintage beast of a fabric (indigo, heavy weight, loopwheeled...hell, I'll drop the indigo if it can be heavy and loopwheeled) and pounce on it. Certainly a decent price point for what they currently are, but they just aren't exciting...

Alright, was waiting to see reviews before I put in my first order.

I have had a lot of inconsistency with tee sizing in particular. I wear XL shirts but need L in a thick tee, and M in the white round neck tees as they stretch a lot when worn.

Their medium t-shirts fit me perfectly (6ft, 165lbs) but I went with a large sweatshirt.  The center back is slightly shorter in the sweatshirt, for one....and two, I don't need the sweatshirt to be as trim fit as the t-shirts....hopefully my thought process proves to be correct!

Give it time. I'm sure they're testing the waters to see if it's worth investing time in sourcing more innovative fabric.

Oh, I know. It'd be stupid of them to jump into the deep end/test with high end craziness. And I'd rather them nail the build first, before putting up something too tempting. I'm just impatient is all. I've been one of the people bugging them for....like two years now (I actually don't know if it's been two....just a while.). :p

Hmmm. Those sweatshirts seem boring in all ways.

But then again I don't wear sweatshirts.  They are just way too hot and I can't regulate my temperature when wearing them inside and outdoors.  I need to be able to unzip, zip partway, and remove without disturbing the perfection of my hair (hah).

Maybe a zip up sweatshirt that was somehow unimaginably awesome would be attractive.  But I can't conceive of how that would be (due to it being unimaginable).

I'll stick with button up flannels and workshirts in the meantime.  Or my trucker.

Their sweatshirt intro email basically communicated their game plan.  Start basic, ramp it up with the offerings after a few campaigns.  I'm thinking it will follow a similar pattern to their t-shirt rollouts.   Used to be white, black, and grey T's only.  Now they have different styles, dyes, v-necks etc.  Personally I'd like to see more heavyweight but the thoughts there.  I chose to pass on this round of sweatshirts as I didn't need to grab any of those basics but I'm looking forward to some unique colors and fabrics.  I hope they offer something soon that you can't find anywhere else.
