I need to pick up that red chambray if/when it pops back up...and those brown jeans look really good. What kind of shoes/boots are you rocking with the brown denim?

So far I have the natural backed, looking forward to them, and the navy chino and navy chambray as well. I'm gonna try to hold off from backing anything else till those three come in so I know what size fits the best. But I'm also really looking forward to the 23 or the 26(or even heavier if they get it) to pop up again

I was just starting to detox from the Gustin addiction when you posted those pictures!

I'm saving my pennies for the  Heavyweight (23 ounces) this summer.  I'll just have to find a way to land the next Downtown Brown!

I shared my Natural with my son, who will back a pair in slim cut.  He had not seen Gustin before and after trying on a few, he got the fever too.  He's young and the slim cut is definitely better for him, but he loved the character of the denim, solid stitching and overall feel.

devastitis, thanks for uploading the pictures...you look great.  That the Downtown Brown is 14 ounces is very appealing.  I like substance.  I also think it would look awesome with Stow or other brogue style shoes and boots.

I am curious as to what the Downtown Brown would look like over time...does it fade?

Thanks, Oldguy.  I just got them the other day, and wore them for the first time yesterday.  I hope they don't fade, they're perfect as is.

Thanks!

Just received my Gray Silk 2s this week and they are worth the hype. Extremely comfortable right away.
I don't understand the all of the hubbub over the different selvedge id, I actually like this id better.

I can't rock the scoop untucked. I don't even like scoops on shirts that I would tuck.

Does anyone think the Downtown Browns look a bit gold in color?  I haven't had a chance to wear mine yet (haven't taken to tailor to have hemmed), but they appear a bit gold in color to me..

I've tried to wear the gingham shirt untucked and it doesn't look right. I'll pass on the chambray because it isn't a shirt I would tuck. Same with the flannels. I hope they switch to a rounded bottom on at least their work wear.

Recently recieved the double dip indigo shirt. Am I wrong in thinking any indigo colored shirt will bleed in the wash as with jeans? Never hanged dried clothing before these shirts. Going to have to buy an iron (eeww:). The red chambray (really nice btw as stated:) looks wrinkle free but the blue steel def. requires iron after hanging.Thanks.

To each their own, of course. I'm trying to figure out what a rounded bottom would look like - every buttoned shirt I own has at least some scoop to it. Gustin's scoop isn't all that more pronounced than Steven Alan, for instance.

I'm curious to see what the work shirt will look like. It's not at all my thing, but you guys sure seem excited about it.

I'm OK w/ some scoop. In my opinion the Gustin design is too much scoop for a shirt meant to be worn untucked. For a shirt meant to be tucked, it's fine. For a shirt meant to be worn out, a chambray, flannel, work-shirt, ect., I would prefer a more rounded bottom. I've never owned Steve Alan, so I can't comment. I will say the scoop on say, Taylor Stitch, Our Legacy, or Fullcount looks a lot better untucked. Just my opinion.

Hi I just received my blue Oxford and it is a great quality shirt and fits perfectly! I am now interested in an true american denim however I am a bit surprised of the gustin sizes. Usually I buy gap in w32 & l30 or levis in w33. When I used the gustin size guide I should take a 34! Is it normal?

That seems pretty much the norm. The levis, gap, banana republic, nudie, brooks bros, PRL, h&m, etc, etc I own are all sized 36, and fit differently, but measure at least an inch or two larger than that. I ended up ordering a 38, because there isn't a 37. The fit guide even gives an example of sizing up 3 sizes, so going up 2 seems pretty normal. Any sizing question I've ever asked is usually accompanied by a response of go by the fit guide, so it seems pretty accurate.

So what's the deal with the weird scoop/fitting on the sides of Gustin shirts?  Been thinking of picking some up but don't want them to look odd.

My Zimbabwe was sent on Thursday and arrived on Friday. I am very happy with it. The denim and construction feel very good and substantial. I'd like hidden rivets on the back pockets and I am not partial to the selvedge belt loop but those are minor things. I hope they would hold up well like my other better pairs.

When will Gustin breed more of Army Green Chore Coats? https://www.weargustin.com/store/637
post #2325 of 4177

Hey guys, if you follow Gustin you know there's a second run of the waxed canvas chore coat in charcoal funding right now. I just got mine from the first run and it fits exactly the same as the fit guide for the size medium which doesn't help me. If you're currently backing the chore coat, or don't think it will get funded in time, or don't want to wait until august i'm here to help. Just looking to recoup my initial fee, so I won't charge the same respective sales tax or shipping fee Gustin might.Looking for $110 shipped to Con. US (USPS 2 day priority) or less. Pricing is negotiable, email me at leejonathan_c@yahoo.com if you're a serious buyer. Unworn, unused, in original packaging.
