Just saw on the community gustin forum that they're going to start offering the option of a sz 37. It was from Cody with the Gustin team. There was no time frame given, but if I have the option prior to the production of the One Six, I'd likely change my order from a 36 to a 37.

Anyways, good news for people in between sizes, or unsure about ordering either a 36 or 38.

That's great.  I think that if something is a bit big, a hot water shrinking can take care of things, and if it is too small, the stretching while damp works well.

They also plan to offer the 23 ounce denim in a few months.

I plan on NOT missing out on that one!   I love the 18 ounce enough to want the 23 ounce pair for winter!

Can we get Ventile pants soon?

What's the average weight of jeans?  12 ounces or so?

Having fallen in love with the robust feeling of Gustin's 14.5, and then 18 oz, I am wondering if a standard pair would be okay for summer nights.   The summer light weights currently being offered won't be delivered until July, which for our short summer, doesn't leave me a lot of break in time.

Also, does folding jeans to put away for long periods of time leave break in marks?  Or do most hang their quality jeans?

That 12oz figure seems about right to me for an average jean weight.

As for folding jeans: I fold all of mine. I fold them by bringing the cuffs up to the waistband and then after that folding the jeans in half once more. On thicker jeans I've never had any unnatural creasing. On thinner jeans there's a light fold line that looks like you've been sitting for too long, but wearing them for a little bit removes that line. That being said on any pair I've never had the fading affected by the folding.

Grey silks came in the mail while I was out of town this week, and I'm wearing them for the first time today. I'll try to snap a picture and jot down some impressions later today if I get the chance.

I picked up a pair of slim fit on ebay this week; very nice.  12.5 ounce, so more suited for summer.

It is not a skinny fit jean but a nice taper along the leg.  I am too old to wear skinny jeans, and am not a fan of the look, but the slim fit looks good with shoes.

Got mine a few days ago. I was in the second go-round of the olive fabric.

It's very nice, very well put together, IMO. Zipper is nice and robust and the fabric is great. The size is better than I expected. From the pictures it looked a bit disproportionately long, but it's just fine.

My one quibble is the shoulder strap feels flimsy. I'm sure it's going to be fine, but it feels thin.

My GreyXBlacks just showed up. happy.gif The fabric is very smooth, definitely not slubby. It is also the only pair of jeans I have ever owned with a non-white weft. I really like these!

I got my first Gustin shirt, the Royal Gingham size Large. It's definitely a well put together shirt. Substantially better than J Crew. The only part I'm not enamored with is the cut. The upper part is cut slim and the lower part is a little baggie. I usually wear a slim large in button downs and a medium in polos or T-shirts. I'm about a 39-40 inch chest and 30-31 inch waist. Not much of a belly. I find the Taylor Stich size 40 fits me way better. To be fair, the Gustin shirt is advertised as a "classic fit" so there is nothing wrong with the cut. Just be aware if you have a thick or muscular upper body (which I do not) you will need to size up or take the larger if between sizes. I really like many of the styles so I may buy more, depending on how I feel about it after alteration.
