That roughout wallet is sweeeet. Can you guys make it in the simple wallet style? I prefer a card case over a bifold. I would be all over that.

Thanks!

I would say that's likely.

31" Levi 514s
waist 33
front rise 10
thigh 24
knee 17.5
cuff 17.5

30" Gap 1969 Skinny
waist 32
front rise 9
thigh 23
knee 15.5
cuff 14.5

I'd like something between the two of them but not sure if I should go with a 32" Slim or a 31" Straight. My inseam is like 28" and I'm a little overweight right now so I'm leaning toward the 32" slim.
I have several pairs of 514s in a 32 waist and I wear a 33 in Gustin. I'd say a 32 slim is what you want.

I don't see technical climbers pushing buttons through buttonholes on their storm jackets. But everyone rest easy, I won't touch the fly!

I hated the button fly when I first got into raws. It took some getting used to, but now I would never go back to a zipper. I found that once the jeans break in, I can leave the top button done up, and only undo (and later redo) the lower buttons. This is important to me since I wear a belt, and I don't want to have to undo the belt to get at the top button. I can now undo the lower buttons faster than I could unzip a zipper. Buttoning them back some sometimes takes a bit longer, but I have to give priority to getting the fly open :)

Hang in there!

Very bummed to learn that my natural duck canvas jeans failed their quality inspection. I was really looking forward to them. But luckily they had a pair of Okayama Standards in the same size so I'm getting those instead. I wanted them anyway, I was just waiting to back a campaign until I had a chance to assess the fit of the ducks.

I may be looking at the world through rose-colored glasses here, but if I got a note that stated my denim wouldn't be sent due to failing quality control...I'd be pumped. That just means Gustin is looking out for their customers and isn't going to push garbage out.

Are you going to release another raw umber denim anytime soon ?

I'm not faulting them; it's absolutely to their credit.

But there is also no escaping the fact that I had been looking forward to those pants for almost two months. frown.gif

I'm with you on that. I wasn't actually inferring that you were being negative about their service at all, just thinking out loud really.

Anyone has a pair of 36 Silks they want to sell.

I can wear slim or straights.
I'm hoping I get exactly that in the grab bag. It's wishful thinking

Someone needs to do this with their Gustins and post the results...as I have access to a location where I could do this, I will be. But I'm going to need more time with the jeans first as my Pima Fires are only a couple of weeks old.

I am really thinking of trying that since I originally read the article. I won't have a chance until July though.

Ironist,

I also wear a 31 in Levis 514s. My waist on a pair of those are 32.5 though. The rest of your measurements look pretty good. In Gustin I wear a 31slim. They're a tight in the beginning, but I can button the top button with a little effort. After a few days, they stretch out enough. Now, they fit pretty good, ymmv.

Thanks for the help Jack917 and jimanchower. I appreciate it! I'll probably go with the slim then and just decide between 31 or 32.

I've always found the beach wash to be pretty gimmicky, kind of like the idea of not washing for 6 months. You wash them when they're dirty or smelly, or if you spill something on them. The only real effect of the beach wash is the artificial fading and distressing you cause on the areas you rub heavily with sand. It's like a more involved version of sandpapering your denim.
