Which one is better and why?

http://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=14845&vid=1&pid=555330002 - less than $100 after coupons

http://www.zara.com/us/en/man/jackets/diamond-quilted-jacket-c496501p1327691.html - $80 bucks

http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/outerwear/cotton/PRDOVR~04337/04337.jsp - full retail

http://www.jcrew.com/mens_category/outerwear/Barbour/PRDOVR~72976/72976.jsp - full retail

In terms of slim fitting, it looks like BR and Zara have the best cutting. Barbour is known to have better quality but the jacket looks a bit boxy.

If there are other recommendations, you can throw them in this list as well.

I picked up the JCrew Broadmoor a few weeks ago and really like it. Nice fit...a bit trim through the waist which I prefer. Good deal with the 25% off and free shipping currently going on at Jcrew. Pretty nice quality for the $.

I was looking for something trim/ slim fitted as well. Do you have a pic of yourself in it? The site's picture doesn't look like it's as trim as Zara and BR

I'll try to load a pic later today. I'm 6' 175 and medium is perfect. I always struggle with jackets/coats as they bell out around the waist...the Broadmoor does not.

By the way, there is no deal on the Jcrew jackets. The 25% only applies to in-house merchandise according to the online rep.

I have the Barbour Liddesdale that I got on sale through Wingtip a few weeks ago for 30% off. It's a bit boxy but it fits very nicely over a sportcoat or thick sweater and works very well for what I wanted: A lightweight piece of outerwear that looks good with proper trousers and will allow me to keep driving my Jeep with no doors or roof further into the fall.

I wouldn't pay full price for the Barbour, but if you can find it on sale elsewhere, I think it's a good deal. The Banana Republic one at <$100, with the coupons, would probably be a good substitute. The other two jackets you posted look nice enough but a bit short for my tastes.

i asked about the jcrew jacket at my local store (not the barbour one), and she said she'd take 25% off. if you physically can get to a store, i'd go and ask.
