I apologize if this has been discussed before but I couldn't find an answer to my questions regarding leather type/suggestions for a pair of cowboy/western type boots.

Regardless of how you feel about wearing cowboy boots, I'm looking for a pair and want something that can also be walked around in comfortably, so probably not actual riding boots, but a hybrid type of boot.

My question is, what kind of leather to get? Probably not looking at a reptile or lizard. Kind of want something that's comfortable and soft, but also very durable and can with stand a limited amount of exposure to elements like dirt, water, etc.

I know there are a myriad of options, but was looking for people's opinions, experiences, and perhaps professional knowledge about what leather type would probably be best used in an everyday, do anything kind of application.

Thanks in advance for the help!
