F last, U last, I'm good either way.

Let's talk leather people, any other suggestions besides medium brown suede?

Mink suede. More versatile IMO. But perhaps not enough panache for a casual chukka ?

I am trying to google the mink suede, and not having much luck. Any pics?

It is Carmina's default suede -- "ante marron."

If you google image search you should also find some past B&S threads for EG mink suede shoes sold on this board.

Basically dark brown suede.

I could get behind dark brown...

I think of mink as having a more gray/matte cast, like a subdued chalky dark brown.

Sorry, hairsplitting.

Does VASS carry mink suede?

No, they call theirs dark brown

Medium brown is Vass's most attractive suede IMO. A perfect shade

Lots of great boots discussions but not much on shoes. Is there something that you'd like to see? Maybe an Adelaide or a simple elegant 2-eyelet derby? Or a norweger?

Yes

If we're talking about EG's mink suede, I would prefer Vass' medium brown, FWIW.

Almost anything, no? Chinos in khaki, navy, or dark green; flannel trousers in grey or a light enough fawn; calvary twills in tan; corduroys in a dark enough brown, etc. Seems like a really versatile color.

Hm, I might have to bow out then. Looking at my 82 last EG Shannon, I think the shape isn't for me, at least for a chukka. I have a pair of Saint Crispin chukkas on their classic last. If that's like the P2, I'd be onboard. Otherwise, I think you're right that 202-style last might be too round for a plain toe chukka (though, I like my buckle boots).

I have a pair of St. Crispin's chukkas on the classic last.  I don't have a P2 on hand for comparison, but I'm willing to bet the St. C. classic is a lot closer to Vass F and EG 82 than it is to Vass P2.

I reckon I agree with that assessment.
