Yes, sorry if I wasn't clear but I don't think there should be any issues including regular and wide units in a group order.

Alright some ideas emerging from the thread so far - let me know which you'd get behind...

1.  F-last chukka boot in medium brown suede

2.  F-last 3-eyelet derby in medium brown suede or antique cognac scotchgrain

3.  F- or U-last austerity brogue boot (burgundy or black calf?)
4.  F-last Old English II in burgundy or oxblood calf

5.  P2-last Osloer boot in antique cognac calf

?

I need to try on the U last I just got from you Greg before I put in my official votes.  On first pass, I would be interested in #3 U in burgundy or #4 in burgundy.

My most interest is in this one.

I'm a little lost without photos but I'll just wait to hear what the group decides and see if I'm interested.

I'm also pleased to hear there will be accommodation of wide widths!

I'm not sure yet whether I'd want in on the group order, but FWIW, I'm also mostly interested in the F-last medium suede chukka.

After looking at the F-last chukka upthread, I am leaning towards P last. As other posters have commented, the last thing we need is another C&J Tetbury type shoe.

I don't know, but i sure could go for a chukka on the U-last, Tetbury lookalike or not:

^^^ That is slick.

I think I also would prefer the P2 over the F for a chukka.

I think it depends on your purposes. I can see these working with jeans etc., but (to me) they would be too fierce for traditional dress.

Roger, with a name like RogerP, you should be championing the P2 last!

Yes, sorry, I meant P2. Getting these codes right is more confusing than being a pre-war telephone exchange operator.

I have always wanted a Tetbury like chukka, so a better made VASS version is right up my alley.

In any case, what are the GMTO ideas going around at the moment?

sprout2 - I don't really see the chiseled shape of of the U last making the shoe more casual. If anything, I think an argument could be made that a more rounded toe looks more casual. I'd sooner slip on the Chukkas Jubei posted with a jacket and tie than I would an Allen Edmonds Dundee or something from Alden.

That said, I think it would be an attractive makeup on either of the F or U lasts.

I echo those who don't want a Tetbury kind of chukka, but I think the F last isn't so pointy, no? It seems less sleek than the EG 82. The P2 looks too much like EG's 202, which I actually like for chukkas, but I also like how the F-last seems between the 82 and 202.

Below: Vass P2; Vass F last; EG 202; Vass U;, EG 82

The F last isn't pointy at all - it is a round-toed last - just a reasonably sleek take on the concept.
