Thanks. That makes sense. I'd be in for the medium brown F last chukka group.

1 Sprout
2 John Grady Cole
3 Malat
4 Steel28
5 Sartorial Vacua (prefers P2)
6 Tee84

So we're roughly at 6. Not sure if Sprout is serious although I trust his good taste so maybe he is. It sounds like Sartoria is on the fence but maybe we can sway him. I can post photos of my F last dark brown chukkas if anyone needs more prompting.

Anyone knows how Vass' F last compares to Alden's Barrie? Pictures will be very helpful if you can post them.

The F last and the P2 last are sleeker than the Barrie last. I think the closer comparison to the Barrie last is Vass' 3636 last. The one pair of Barrie last shoes I had were 9.5 and they fit just a little bit tight in the toes compared to the size 43 I take in the F last. I am a standard 10 D with good arches, and the F last feels like it was made for my foot shape.

I'll look around the Vass thread and see if I can find you some comparison photos.

FYI, a user in the Vass thread posted photos of the F last chukka in mid-brown suede: http://www.styleforum.net/t/130044/the-ultimate-vass-footwear-porn-thread-pictures-reviews-sizing-etc/17700_100#post_8210311

Looks really awesome, IMO.

Based on the pictures I would like something less sleek.

Strangely I think I own Vass F-last but I thought it looked different.

Either the P2 or F last is fine with me.

Hey don't start making things any more complicated !!!

This is why those GMTO never get made.  You guys need to stick to a makeup and move it forward.

I have the 202 Banbury from EG and I love it in Walnut Country Calf.

Will post actually photos later if helpful.

Hm, I might have to bow out then. Looking at my 82 last EG Shannon, I think the shape isn't for me, at least for a chukka. I have a pair of Saint Crispin chukkas on their classic last. If that's like the P2, I'd be onboard. Otherwise, I think you're right that 202-style last might be too round for a plain toe chukka (though, I like my buckle boots).

If it helps, here's one I had. Vass F last 43 on left (red brown suede), Barrie 9.5D on the right.
