Two pair of Top Drawer...the finishing, especially the beveld waist and mild fiddleback are exceptional. Overall, I'm quite pleased with how these turned out after waiting 9 months to get them.

I'm loving both of the styles! The broguing is outrageous.

I think that sole construction is nevertheless clearly a step below bespoke.

Very nice! Surely worth a 9 months wait

Aportnoy, gorgeous as always but I have to ask....how many pairs of shoes do you own?

Any chance of a closet/storage shot?

I think they are both beautiful. Andrew, I would think you were gratified to receive them after a 9 month wait.

Z,
What is it about the sole construction that is a step below bespoke? The metal toe taps, the heel nail pattern, and the mild fiddleback look every bit as good as bespoke to me, but I'm not an expert.

Really, what do you see lacking that would be in a bespoke sole?

If I order a beveled waist, I don't want to see stitching/welt. Here, frankly, I see a lot. I think even Lobb prestige does a better job than this. Compare this:

To these:

Gorgeous shoes! But I find the soles not much different from RLPL 2-tone soles, may be it's the blurry pictures.

I'm with Z on this. But these are clearly not bespoke or positioned as such. They are MTO on mild steroids. Lobb does do a better job with the finishing of the waistbut has been at it in RTW for a long, long time.

They have some nice touches that frankly, IMHO, don't elevate them to a level of pricing that they are asking.

The standard EG MTO program was quite fine in my book.

I agree! But, from what I understand, they don't allow the kind of broguing customization you have done here on their MTO program anymore?

Ok, I see your point.

As I said, I'm no expert.

True. They have gutted the MTO program to push folks in tis direction. It's a real bummer.

OMG. That is the most beautiful broguing I've ever seen.

Are those metal taps advisable on shoes?
