Without taking a stand on the loveliness/ugliness of the shirts, it appears that the "gaudy and douchey" details wouldn't be visible when worn. What harm is there in that? It's like "fun" linings on coats.

Look, I don't want to rip on you - or the shirts. I think they are tired. Look at the unneccesary details which do not add to the shirts but must certainly add to the cost and detract from the overall impact of the shirt. The buttons look cheap. The colored stitching is unnecessary and the "adjustable" button sizing on the cuffs speaks to an OTR shirt of the quality generally dispalyed in shirts found at the Tommy Hilfiger outlet. That's fine, but I bet they cost a lot more than that. I am not concerned with SF consensus --which generally stems from a misplaced emphasis on crap worn by the Little Duke--but one should be more concerned with fit / fabric quality and tailoring.

These shirts look like poor imitations of these:

All the different detailing makes shirt ugly in my opinion, and anyways I assume that you are really just the same the poster who initially posted the shirts under the name stenstroms and that you are only posting the shirts for advertising purposes. If you like the shirts then wear them and enjoy them, I just find them to be ugly and fairly ridiculous looking.

I have posted a picture wearing the first one on the left in the teh Prisco's thread.

The first one on the left is a Carlo Riva sky blue bengali stripe fabric, 3.5mm sky blue stripes and 3mm white stripes, self sourced, with a classic collar (my most common that I use more often on office shirts). As all Carlo Riva poplins, it is quite fine, not 100% sure about the finesse, but I seam to remember it should be in the region of 180/2-200/2 (at least)

the second one in the middle, is a full cutaway, taller collar band, in a 120/2 poplin which I seams to remember, was from Canclini. stripes are of virtually the same thicknes as the previous one. Contrasting collar, cuffs and sleeve plackets. underside of collar and french cuff, is in the same striped fabric as rest of the shirt (in Naples it is believed that like that people know that the shirt was born with contrasting collars and cuffs rather than being substitutes). This shirt will be worn occasionally at the office, and at the summer races (Royal Ascot & Epsom Derby)

Third one is a mini Herringbone fabric from Monti, with a front placket and semi cut away collar, meant to be a winter fabric but actually quite fine and light. It is a direct replacement for an RTW shirt I had that I use to love the fabric but hated the skinny collar, so I ordered this one with an alternative collar I like.

These fabrics are actually from the Canclini book from which is also the Canclini shirt's fabric from Marco

Funnily enough the higher end fabric book from Canclini (Lusso Continuativo) is lined with a fabric from the one of the standard books that is quite famous from many RL Purple Label runway shots (I even had that shirt with a white Keaton collar, dammit!).
So the circle is closing here
