Good for you. I like a monogram that is discreetly placed. Love the placing of yours!

Can you measure your zipper for me? I would like to order the finest zippers they make and then start on a fine wardrobe of non-iron shirts.

There is a severe case of button lust going around. Don't get in its way.

Am I the only one who isn't fond of "thick" buttons?

No, you're not the only one. I used to get them on shirts thinking they were "nicer," but now I prefer a medium to thin MoP button.

Four hole buttons are pleb anyway, thin or thick.

Don't know about buttons but there is nothing like a thick Meerschaum in your mouth.

No. I think it's actually very Big Time and Inner Circle to dismiss thick buttons. I like 'em because they feel nice and meaty between my fingers. Weird? No. Only natural.

The best buttons are the ones Kabbaz uses, which are thick but not crazy thick, and are nicely rounded at the edges and back so they are easy to manipulate.

The worst are the ones Borrelli uses, which are too damned thick for their tiny buttonholes and which have very sharp edges that dig into your fingers when you try to press them through.

The Gevena button is decent. Thin, but not wafer-thin and breakable.

The Paris button is the worst. Super thin and breaks with ease. Junk. And those are the MOP ones. Sometimes they give you plastic and tell you it is MOP.

One of these days I have to try him ... if he'll accept me as a client ... and I can come up with the cash.

I hear you. I have a linen shirt of theirs (love the color and cloth) but I get so very frustrated when trying to button that shirt.

I have to warn you... I believe he currently only accepts orders placed through the Ask Andy About Clothes Interchange subforum.
