It's Tip Top cloth from three summers ago (maybe longer). I only had 2.25 yards, and the one time I tried to bring you that much you said it was not enough. I still have maybe 40-50 lengths of 2.25 yards of various shirtings.

I asked Mike and he said he sponges the cloth but does not wash it.

the factory wants 2.5 for 60" fabric, though inside we can do it in 2 yards with out a problem.

not sure what he means by sponging. unless they are just spraying with water and pressing.
i would wash and dry or at least wash and air dry.

It's a real shame the cutter committed the shirtmaking cardinal sin - patterns unmatched round the placket.

It must be my eyes. I still don't see the patterns matched.

It's actually not the buttons, it's the pressing. The cloth is rather loosely woven and the pattern lines are somewhat liquid. Notice how they really don't look straight anywhere. If you fold back the placket on the left side, you can see that where it joins the body of the shirt, the pattern is matched perfectly. But in pressing, they got misaligned. This is far less common with a more tightly woven cotton.

Do you propose I do this by foo-mail or on the foo-phone? Unfortunately, I can only contact him by PM, and not by special symbiotic foo-waves.

Then please accept my apologies as I was under the impression that you indeed had other means of contacting him. Also, just noticed your avatar; I see you have been broken!

Btw, nice shirts Manton!
