Are all Levi's 508s more or less the same quality?

I was at a Kohl's today and saw a pair of Levi's in my favorite style, the 508 regular taper. They were only like $40, which is half of what they sell for in the Levi's store at retail.

So I was wondering, does Levi's make a cheaper line for department stores or is this stuff exactly the same denim/construction as the $78 pair in the flagship store?

Also, where would you guys order them to get the best deal?

I fit perfectly / almost skin tight into a size 34 Levis 508, this morning I ordered a pair of Gustin's slim 36. Hope it fits~ (but I have the largest bubble butt and thighs you will ever see). nod[1].gif

Yes Levi's makes different price point denim in the same fit. They do this to reach different consumer groups. Unfortunately, it can be a little disappointing when you go from the higher to lower price point thinking you're getting a great deal. The reason being, that to achieve a lower price point something has to be sacrificed along the way. Cheaper fabrics are used, faster (cheaper) construction techniques, etc... Sometimes you will find a gem in the lower price points, but beware of greater shrinkage and a shorter garment lifecycle. I hope this was helpful.

Jesus, that's annoying.
So this is lower quality?: http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-1431941/levis-508-regular-tapered-jeans-men.jsp

How can I tell which version is what? Where should I shop to get a deal on this cut?

If it's not at a Levi's store and the price point is considerably lower, chances are it will be of the lower quality tier. Not to say that all of these are bad, or even that all the others are sooooo superior; but there are differences. If you are satisfied with the product, no big deal. They are all over the place as far as product consistency, they use many different factories as they are a huge global company and quality control can be an issue. I suggest shopping both Levi's and a wholesaler before buying to see if you notice quality differences; if not, then buying a pair from a Levi's store and from a wholesaler, wash and wear them both and see if you can notice the difference in quality at that point.
