Linen jackets (it's still stupidly hot here in DC), olive khakis, brown monks, green striped shirts, and green paisley bow ties are all staples, right?

Something about this fit looks off.

Part of it could be the light beige jacket with the dark green pants. I don't like that color contrast.

Also, that bow tie looks like it would go better with a rough tweed/cold weather jacket than a lightweight linen one. Mismatched seasonality. (See Wallcloud's dark colored, tweed jacket with the bowtie?)

The pale green multistripe shirt isn't my favorite either.

My lovely wife has said, on the record, for all of you, that my shoes remind her of cockroaches.

As long as ********* doesn't remind her of shoeroaches. I think your shoes are nice. And your suit makes me want to do a little dance.

P.S. Your wife's shoes are awful. You should buy her nice ones.

So...
Um...
I don't get a nickname?

That's ok. Being a middle child I'm kind of used to being left out.

Cpt - awesome glasses

Clags - at least she does not think that your face looks like a cockroach.

Clags - is she wearing toms? if so, my daughter has the same pair in green.

The light jacket/dark pants is polarizing, for sure, and some people also seem to be biased against olive. But the green/tan color combination seems to follow fairly naturally for me with a linen jacket (might be all that time wearing a Boy Scout uniform), so I wear it a lot in the summer. Or psuedo-summer. Or whatever the hell is going on here right now. :fu:

I do get where you're coming from on the seasonality. It's a spring/summer shirt, and while I tend to like paisleys year round, they do shine against tweed in fall and winter, and have that association. If you tend to read that as a winter tie, seeing it against the Spring/Summer fit would be out of place.

It's also a triple green fit, which also might be what's throwing you. Olive pants, pale green shirt, dark green tie. That's done regularly enough with blue, but green is a much less common color, so that many green pieces may be what's throwing you off.
