I have these shoes (Im wearing them in the pic above) that I was considering. Are these doable with a suit for a wedding?

Those shoes are doable, just. Wear the best shoes you have. But you said earlier you wanted to buy new brown wingtips. Why the change of heart?

Thanks for the good info man. Maybe I should tone it down with a less 'loud' shirt?

It really depends on what sort of wedding it is, what sort of people are attending, and what sort of look you want to present. The purple shirt, lighter brown shoes, and lighter blue suit are not particularly conservative or formal. That look might be very out of place at some weddings, but might work fine at others. No one here can make that judgement call for you.

Personally, without knowing anything about the wedding, I'd dress in a dark suit, light solid shirt, conservative tie, and black dress shoes. I'd consider dark brown shoes if I had them, but I don't.

Invitation says nothing of attire, which I am assuming means its not SUPER formal dress.

It's not really an issue of what you must wear, it's what you should wear if you want to avoid the raised eyebrow or "nice shirt" comment. :) Regardless, I'm sure your friends will just be glad you're there, no matter what you wear.

Got a pair of Cole Haan Wings in British Tan.

I know people rag on CH but I have had good luck with them. Seems like reasonable quality for the money. Someone at Nordstrom messed up on the pricing so they gave them to me for $198 instead of the $248 they normally cost too.

They are a similar color to the Cole Haan more casual ones I already have. I may add a pair of dark browns in the future as well.
