Chocolate brown suit what shoes?

I did an impulse buy on a chocolate brown three piece suit recently. The trouble is that I didn't think too far and thus I don't know what shoes to match it with. To make things complicated I don't have a brown pair of shoes... I'm thinking of snuff suede chukka if I were to invest in one but what do you all think?

I think most shoes except dark brown will do the trick.

Hi thanks for the reply ok I'll avoid the 'trying to match the shoes to the suit too hard' look. What about the material would you think suede would be too casual for a three piece suit? (I'm only wearing it on date nights and night outs so I don't need to consider work dress codes).

Depends mostly on the fabric more than the color - if it is a more rustic one suede should be good, if it is a city one, not so really. Brown is in fact a collection of hues, so it is quite difficult to say anything without a pic, but any brown (mid to dark) shoe could do the trick.

It depends on the tie, too. The shoes need not be brown. For the purposes cited, they instead could be burgundy.

I wear burgundy wingtips with my three-season brown suit. I just picked up a DB in tobacco linen that I may try out with some navy suede shoes.

Navy suede sounds great smile.gif probably the next suede I am going to get will be in that colour.

I bought tobacco a suede desert boots to complete the look in the end. I thought the sole was going to be too casual but it worked out quite nicely smile.gif
