I'm interested in hearing the thinking behind those shoes.

Let me play, since I am wearing a brown jacket today (apologies for the bad pics, that's all I can do)

No thinking behind the shoes except that they coordinate - sort of - with the tie.

Maybe I should get them muddy.

Many thanks GMMcL for taking over the challenge, especially at such short notice, I'm sorry everyone that I couldn't commit to running this or another challenge this week. Some scumbag stole or sold off banking details from my bank, and I've been trying to reclaim what little funds I had. So, been a little preoccupied.
Anyway, Brown Suit for the masses!

Thanks again for your understanding, I'll try to run a special challenge or two in the near future, both the 'Learn from the Masters' and another look at a three or four pattern combo.

You are being imperious, and worse, inconsistent. You said camel hair was okay, and then said tan wouldn't cut it. It may not be what you intended, but lack of specificity has yielded these results. The norm here is to include all but the most obviously transgressive entries and let the horde sort it out in their voting.

Be cool, man.

Let 'em in. All of 'em. My money's on the boy.

Not to sound imperious, but I am running the show. I am making up for a challenge I won back in April but couldn't follow through because my wife delivered, with serious complications, at 28 weeks.

Since I own the thread and the poll, it seems natural that I decide who is in and who is out.

Seems to me tan is no less a shade of brown than pink is a shade of red. on the color wheel they are identical but for value. So in they go.

However, brown does need to be the dominant JACKET or suit color. So I am afraid, based on viewing on my blackberry, that Victor Elfo wont make it. I reserve the right to change that ruling based on monitor viewing or if VE thinks he can post a more true to color photo later.

However, I too would like to see more brown suits. Personally I usually only wear suits Mondays and Wednesdays to teach. extending the poll, essentially, a second week would allow more time and hopefully more suites -- including possibly me.

What saith the masses?

Curious does any shade of brown work with black, and if yes, which shade? Beige bordering on gray?

Sorry, GMMcL, I was confusing your comments and jrd's. Who's running the show here?

With black what? Brown suits and black ties are common. Black shoes with with brown suits...

Sorry Victor Elfo and Caustic Man, neither of this fits qualify. I'm going to have to DQ these

Brown jacket or suit is a must. Brown pants do not count. A tan jacket does not count.

I'm afraid you had GMMcL confused with jrd617.
Just trying to clear up things.

On another note, awesome entries so far.

^ I meant with odd jackets and sport coats. I had on a beige-gray (long) coat with light to mid gray trousers and black oxfords the other day. Never crossed my mind since the beige was light enough IMO but reading CM more I am beginning to think some brown suede or calf would have been better.

Brown suits and black ties!? Now that is new to me. Thanks
