Dear Collective Wisdom,

I'm going to be in Charlotte, North Carolina for a conference, and need restaurant suggestions. I'm looking for a place with good food, a decent wine list, that's quiet enough that a group of six people could spend an evening having a relaxed conversation. Any ideas?

Cheers,

Ac

Roosters is my favorite restaurant there. Ask for a space in the back so it's not as noisy.

The Fig Tree is also good and maybe has the best wine cellar in Charlotte. It's more formal than Roosters.

I prefer Roosters because the menu is a bit more inspired and varies a bit more often. It's also better in case you don't know what others want since fries and a burger is just as possible and well-made as bouillabaise. The wine list is excellent but not as rare or extensive as the Fig Tree.

A thousand thanks, why. Much appreciated.
