I'm looking for some plain long sleeve henleys and thermals. What are some good brands? For the henleys I'm looking for some vintage styled ones. As well as some made out of the same material as thermals. TIA

$200+ for a henley? That's a little steep...

Check the Michael J Krell thread. He's got a new henley design in there and, if it's as nice as the rest of his pieces, then that's a good place to start.

any recommendations for a heavier henley style "sweater" that would work good over tees?

What kind of henleys are you looking for?
Some people prefer solid colors, but I like a deep shade with a minor gradation hue. It makes the fabric look rich & vibrant.

I've also seen some interesting striped henleys, but more of them are not available in store, especially considering the season.

I'd like to know the same thing. I've worn thermals with a white t-shirt underneath just to prevent nipping since they were so tight, and I've gotten complements on the look, but I just don't know about it.

Yeah, have you gone mad? You could be spending like 180 dollars on something else

THe first Henlyey I bought was from Zara in grenoble in 2005 for like $30 (after exchange rate). Second was from Abercrombie for the same price or less a few months later. I have a thick Henley (almost a sweater) from J.Crew for about the same price. And finally bought a really light one from J.Crew again a few weeks back for $20.

I've seen $200 henleys in GQ and Details before, never imagined someone suggesting one here.

Thanks for the replies so far guys. I like the style of the A&F henleys but I dislike the brand and I'm not interested in being a billboard. Is there another brand with similar henleys to the A&F ones?

LA Guy - I checked out the Splendid Mills brand. I like them but $75 for a henley is to steep as are the $200 ones. Is JET still giving out the 40% discount on revolve clothing? Keep in mind I just throw these on with jeans when I'm running errands. I'm prone to get them dirty throughout the day.

op2 - Just regular Henleys that I could throw on with some jeans. Don't really care about 3 or 5 buttons etc. Solid colors no stripped ones. You lost me with the minor graduation hue. You mind expanding on it? I'm not well versed in all this clothes stuff. lol. I'm learning though.

the generra viscose/cotton henley is amazing. i wear it under button downs or over thin t-shirts, or alone. it has becoming a staple in my wardrobe-----i wear it oftener than i should. the cut is flattering without being too form fitting. and the edges of the sleeves and the hem are stitched down, but unfinished, for a slightly subversive deconstructed feel.

i've also an engineered garments henley that i wear less, but it is an interesting piece. very long, with long sleeves that bunch up above the tightly banded sleeve ends. only two-buttons. i can only wear this over shirts. it almost functions like a sweater. chest pocket. a relaxed look.

h&m make some nice un's for layering, but they feel a bit femme sometimes. sometimes i'm very ok with that
