Help me choose a new car (possibly gay) - Page 2

I tried the Jaguar XKR today - it was a bigger car than I had thought (not really a roadster), and it had wood paneling on the interior which made it feel like an old person's car. It's a nice-looking vehicle but it's not really what I'm looking for at this point in my life.

The Lotus Elise and Corvette are great cars but they are a little too masculine for my girly-man tastes.

I think it is between the Boxster and the Audi TT. I like the looks of the Audi better but I doubt it can match the Boxster's performance.

Test drive the BMW Z4 roadster. I bought one about 9 months ago and absolutely love it.

It sounds like design and looks are very important to your decision. If this is true, the TT has a real advantage over the previous edition Boxster, especially on the inside.

What a nice car. I had one for a loaner while my car was in service and was very impressed. I really like the way the car looks, handles, and the exhaust note is amazing.

If your down to the TT and the Boxster, and you drive them both back to back, I can't see how you could possibly not choose the Porsche. Make sure you run them both hard, as there are few mass-production cars that demonstrate the neutrality and predictability of a Boxster at the limit. The Audi does have the superior interior, but if you really care about handling there's only one choice.

Our tastes are definitely different but I love the 300Z so I've got to throw it out there. Of the last two on your list I would definitely go with the Boxter, a little passe IMO but at least it's not as gay as the TT. It seems like it would be too old to be reliable or compete but the biggest bang for the buck in the 2-seaters IMO has always been the Z. $20K will get you a modded 800HP monster that will run circles around anything on the road...and when I say circles I mean circles, not just a straight line. Bullet proof engine, trans, etc if maintained properly. Dealers everywhere. Incredible handling and I love the lines. Just One (Very Nice) Example Or if you want something a little tamer or newer, maybe the 350 (which costs less and blows the Boxter away).

The Audi TT is not a credible roadster because of its lack of RWD.
