Place was completely empty when I entered - felt like a tomb. Chubby guy (maybe south American / Caribbean) and an Asian lady were working the floor. Asian lady didn't knowledge my being there once. As chubby guy was taking the shoes off my feet a respectable older couple (I was wearing jeans and Alden chukkas) entered and he couldn't be finished with me any quicker. Pretty **** experience buy hey-ho, I got what I wanted.

My experience a few months back was decent. The manager (Brian Hill?) even gave me a heads up about their sample sale. Nice guy.

Kevin Hill, very nice guy .. Writes me when an upcoming sale is on with the available make ups in my paticular size. I don't know of any manager who does that. Give the Guy props. Mostly managers in retail take off Thursdays... Chubby dude was likely somebody else..

If you guys are still working on this order in a couple of weeks, I might be in. I have no experience with English boots (Alden, AE and some Italians) but I'm going to be in London (Jermyn St) for a day on the 29th. The Harlech was something I was interested in. I'm going to try to test out the 341 last to see if it works for me.

I, as a newcomer to this, don't want to be pushy but I'm going to throw this out there to see what others' preferences might be. I'd prefer a leather sole but the Ridgeway is not a deal breaker for me. I'd also prefer the whiskey but again, the brown is not a deal breaker. I just hope the 341 last works for me and that you guys haven't placed the order before I get to try it out.

Thanks, and will do. The best comparisons I could give are to Alden Barrie/Modified/Leydon lasts, and the AE 1 and 5-lasts. More soon.

I think it is best for each of to say what is our minimum requirement. For me it is dark brown shell and ridgeway sole. I guess whichever combination reaches first 6 orders should go for it. We can do 2 different combinations if there is enough interests.
So I am only interested in configuration that includes
Dark brown shell and ridgeway sole.

So how do people feel about the possibility of a whiskey Harlech, no eyelets, storm welt on double leather? This has thrown a spanner in the works eh!

I would likely be in for this makeup

Dark brown shell cordovan, Dainite or ridgeway sole or I'm out. Sorry.

+1 for whiskey and double leather! Especially, if the color on those swatches are accurate.

I'm interested only if that swatch is the real color. Not to rain on the parade, but I have my doubts.

+100000 to poor, poor customer service at C&J. No ******* concept of customer service. not at NYC nor at Jermyn St. kind of baffles me and I wonder what the top of C&J management is like if their first line customer service guys are so repulsive
