Maybe we should start a new thread for this?

^^ Good thinking.

No, don't until we know for sure that they will work with leather supplied by us.

The cap toe stitching is possible but would have to be on all the boots.

Is it premature to consider an alternative to zug -- assuming the worst -- and see if we still have 12. I prefer the zug captoe on commando but would still be in on a boot in a tough dark brown leather.

Folks,

I received a sample of zug leather in Willow color. First impression the zug leather is very heavy leathe,r so it seems it is a durable leather. The willow color is medium brown color, it looks like milk chocolate color. It is very difficult to photograph brown colors, but I took some pictures for you. I personally like this color, I think it will age well and I think it is very versatile, probably more so than burgundy zug leather.

Here is the picture next to Rausch milk chocolate

Very nice. I have yet to determine which color I would like, but this certainly will help me determine which I would prefer.

Thank you.

Great shot!! I have sooo many brown boots so I still personally like the burgundy but would likely be in for that as well

Looks gorgeous. Maybe use the Zug in combination with another smooth leather around the toe box/vamp if possible?

I disagree, that would kind of ruin the whole idea of using Zug in the first place by combining it with a less tougher leather.
