Crockett & Jones MTO Central - Page 373

post #5581 of 6054
Things like a whiskey lindrick MTO happening just make me so upset that C&J won't let us get different widths on these orders. I would be 100% in if I could get a wider size.

I'd likely be in as well...

Interest in either of these potential make-ups?

Or a shell Northcote if you're looking at the 348?

I spoke with Pernilla regarding pricing, she said tentatively £665, £554 ex VAT (~$675) with no make-up decisions other than brown shell and dainite sole.

In for whiskey lindrick if it actualizes

I will strongly consider jumping on the Whindrick train if the burgundy shell Lindrick and/or shell Northcote don't gain any interest in the next few days.

Same here.

I just had an unexpected pre-order from Alden pop up, so unfortunately I have to tap out of the current Marlow MTO since I'm already well past my shoe budget for October. Someone can grab my spot for that one...

FYI he has PMed me regarding his decision to stay in the GMTO for now, so we are back to 12. That being said, as it has been demonstrated in the past, these GMTOs are very fluid and there are likely to be open spots before payment is made by all 12 members. So if anyone is interested in being put in reserve for if/when someone drops out, please reach out to me.

Update on the whiskey marlow PTB GMTO:

I spoke with Lauren today and she said that she is still waiting on two more payments. Once those two more payments are confirmed (their cards were declined because of fraud protection), then we'll be fully confirmed and the order will be submitted. Woo!

thanks for the reminder, my card was one of the ones that was declined for potential fraud. Shot Lauren an email just now to rerun the card.

Sorry for holding everyone up!

Regarding a whiskey Lindrick: I'm also interested and have already contacted Lauren about this. She said the earliest they will have whiskey again is early December, so figure 16 weeks or so after that for delivery. She recommends that we get 12 folks's contact and payment info to her starting right now since it takes a while to get everything lined up. I agree, since this thread has ample evidence to back up her claim.

I asked her how much this is going to be, and am waiting to hear back from her. I don't mind organizing this one via a Google spreadsheet and PMs. I'll post the Google spreadsheet and price and details once I hear back from Lauren (hopefully by this time tomorrow).

Here are the folks who have expressed concrete interest so far:

@ennui
@makewayhomer
@TommyB
@BackInTheJox
@chipshot
@JayDotz
@shunted22
@Booter
@Mr Clemson

Obviously this may change once we know the price and other details. The Google spreadsheet will be the "official" record. Be prepared to pay up front now, and not have the order start until early December as noted earlier. I will send PMs to confirm with folks and will limit edit access to the spreadsheet to make sure that we don't get any spurious edits.

What other details about the makeup might be up for debate? I'm a relative noob to C&J and just like the way the Lindrick looks, but I don't know much about the types of welt, last, etc.

Nice! Thanks for organizing this.

I'd say 325 last for sure. Antique or natural edge, storm welt.

Those would be my recommendations/preferences.

Dainite sole? All eyelets, or some speed hooks? What kind of eyelets?

What's with this wheeling thing? Might as well get that out of the way early.

Consider me concretely interested.

Brown dainite, antique edge!

A consideration - this could be the Warlow's older brother with the light welt stitching + antique edge:

Regarding wheeling - per mdubya a week back:

Quote:

Just heard back from Lauren, no wheeling on storm welts. Wheeling possible on normal welt.

She says she does not know if this is a new policy, but just relaying what her Factory Director has told when I mentioned that the RL Marlow and other CJ shoes are wheeled with storm welts.

That's on the double leather sole of the Barlow.  Going by the same logic we've got a choice of:

Flat welt + Wheeling

Storm welt + No Wheeling

Not sure if choosing a dainite sole vs. double leather would change things up.

post #5594 of 6054
Antique edge, storm welt, dainite and all eyelets would be my choice.
post #5595 of 6054
I think a storm welt is the way to go on this boot. And I don't like the white stitching, so let's just nix that now please.

Nobody has an opinion on the eyelets?

EDIT: just saw Mr Clemson's response. OK, all eyelets works for me. I assume non-contrast?

What's the C&J name for the Lindrick, in case Lauren asks?
