I think C&J boot collection lacks variety, especially colour-wise. I love my first (and only so far) pair of C&J boots (Islays, although I had an issue with one of the speed hooks) and I really want to get a pair of shell cordovan boots next. But the only two offerings, Harlech and Skye, are both dark brown like my Islays, so they're too similar (especially the Skyes, because of the brogue and such). Actually the whole shell collection is dark brown, not just boots. So I think I'll get some Carminas (they're restocking shell shoes soon, and they have burgundy, whiskey, even green), although #8 shell Skyes would look great I think. But not willing to go through the whole MTO process I'm afraid. C&J for Brooks Brothers look great in Burgundy: But Carminas look somehow sleeker (these are the ones I'm probably getting).

plenty of shell colors, and C&J has whiskey as well so just missing green / red or ruby colors which is not stock for anyone outside Carmina

I'm trying to get some sizing advice on the 335 last. I've emailed Lauren but was curious what others are doing. I know mdubs is going with 1 down from Barrie. What are other folks doing?

For reference, I'm:

8.5D Alden Barrie, Trubalance
8 UK Carmina Rain, Detroit
8E UK Edward Green 202, 606
9D C&J for Ralph Lauren Marlow - too big but wasn't able to try on the 8.5D

7.5UK or 8UK for 335? Thoughts?

An email from Kevin Hill, mgr of the NY store regarding a similar inquiry:
It (335) is essentially the same as the [325], with just a slightly fuller toe box (it is 2mm higher than the 325 last).

I size 0.5 down if going to UK sizes with standard E width relative to Barrie and trubalance lasts
And down 1 full size for most other lasts

I wear
10.5D on Barrie
11D RL Marlow
10E on 325 last (UK sizing)

So it seems that the Snowdon MTO is dead in the water. Maybe we should try this again a few months down the road. At least that way we would have the boots just in time for the next winter.

I too am fortunate to own Islay's, beautiful boot, as well as Coniston in tan, Skye 2 in dark brown shell, and Skye's in chestnut. Know you were referring specifically to shell offerings but love the chestnut colour of standard Skye's. :D

Anything new on the Harlech front?

I guess if the Skye 2 is being submitted now, then the Harlech will be pushed to the fall, or something?
