Gentlemen, with the weaker gbp would it be a good time for another shell harlech?
I'm ok with brown or whiskey shell, and a leather midsole w dainite outsole -
I'd just like to order from the C&J factory rather than the NY store (where the jermyn st store keeps redirecting me for my single boot enquiries, with prices around 20% higher in NY for some reason)

@sleepyinsanfran - I would be in for a whiskey shell Harlech. What was the price last go around? And we need 12 right?

@sleepyinsanfran I would be interested in Whiskey Shell Harlech as well. In fact I like my Harlech (dark brown shell) so much, I might even consider it in burgundy. I think getting 12 people will be a tall order but hopefully strong dollar will make people jump in.

I'd be in, especially if Dainite and all blind eyelet.

@hoit1981 @mdubs (and others): any advice on how to go about this, based on the last run? I am generally unaware of how the last shell harlechs happened (was away from the forums dealing with tedious matters of life/work etc...), so any advice would be much appreciated.

Sleepy, if you are interested, let me know. The key is getting a spec and >12 people interested and "confirmed" with the design. Then contact Lauren at C&J and she will get contact all the other parties for payment, etc. If you PM me, I will send you Lauren's information.

^ Mikes the best!

Out of interest, what did the last run of Harlechs come to price-wise, and will C&J be raising their prices soon?

Hoit, you are too kind. Here is what the prices were for the Harlechs.

The boots, price wise, have come in at the originally estimated price of £700 (with VAT) or £562.50 (without VAT - People in US) and £30 for shipping plus if shoe trees are desired, they are an additional £60 (with VAT) or £50 (without VAT). So for US people, the shoes will be approximately, £592.50 (~$975) shipped.

How long ago was that so everyone would know what price they would be now?

Hey guys,

Agree - Mike's the best. Meanwhile @Papa Doble has kindly agreed to take over coordination of this mto for us ...

Some tentative specs:
* whiskey shell (dunno if they will have that in stock- I'd be in for a brown shell version if not)
* dainite outsole w leather midsole
* all eyelets?

Last: I would prefer 325 which is a roomier and yet quite contoured last (think gianni), but I'm OK with 341 (which is shorter overall, btw)

You guys are too kind... Here is my pair from the last run for design critiquing and comparison purposes... ;-)

I like the Blind Eyelets on these alot. If they had exposed eyelets, I would have definitely switched the laces to Alden Flat Waxed laces, but these work well on this. The only thing I would change, if possible, is a Brown Danite sole versus the Black. Don't know if C&J has them though! Other than that, with the midsole, the Danite is a dream and should last a few decades.

Sleepy - I'm okay with almost any spec/last. I will go with whatever gets the most takers to get the boots made. Would prefer double leather sole and speed hooks, don't care about last. But I'm amenable to the group. Thanks papa for spearheading.

Edit: looks like dubs posted the same time I was posting. That boot is so damn boss as is. Thanks for posting mike.

Those are some amazing harlechs! and thanks for the comparison with the alden (whiskey?) chukkas. Who makes those double monks?

I'm fine with 3/4 speed hooks or all-eyelets, and blind or grommeted eyelets. Would strongly prefer some dainite outsoles though (with a leather midsole...)

Personally I am not a fan of hooks on a dress boot and blind eyelets look amazing, but I will run with majority, instead of getting in back n forth now lets get other 7 then finalize details
