Guys,

I was talking to Lauren and she will check for us if Newport model is available. It might have been made only for Japanese market. She will get back to me.
In addition Crockett and Jones has almost 50 different grain leathers and colors.

How many of you are interested in shoes (Cheviot or Newport) made in grain leather?

Ok... Still trying to drum up The Cordovan Cheviots, so far, these guys have expressed interest:

@EricW
@tobiasfunke19
@iGotid
@Hoit1981
@wes-bourne
@mobbes

That's 7 including me, just need 5 more! A few people from Reddit seemed up for it too.

We also need to nail down the makeup - I'm happy with either whiskey or dark brown cordovan, and leather or Dainite?

Here's an example of whiskey shell Cheviots from a Japanese website: http://www.frame.jp/products/detail.php?product_id=25636

The same shop has them in dark brown, but this looks more like Colour 8 to me? http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/frameshop/item/5271606101/?s-id=borderless_recommend_item_en
Count me in. I would prefer leather over dainite. C&J's double leather soles will be quite durable.

My whiskey Harlechs are my most supple cordovans - the quality of the C&J whiskey is outstanding. The Newports in whiskey would be amazing. Brown C&J cordovan is a fantastic color, but more difficult to maintain and take care of. I really like C&J whiskey.

C&J doesn't seem too add any layer between the shell cordovan and lining which makes it feel more supple to me. Alden and Carmina have a extra layer between the leathers making if feel sturdier.

Alden doesn't either, afaik - it's just carmina (from my limted experience with carmina). I don't find C&J shell to be any more supple than alden, although C&J's ar enicer in many other aspects

Hopefully I'll be around on the forums (and not away like the last time :p) if/when the next Harlech cordovan makeup happens!

What's the model name and last of this particular boot (228)? Is it still possible to order it?

I would be in! Just not sure about the tan color, would like a darker brown ..

That looks like the Edward Greene Galway to me.

They are C&J on 228 last for sure, i just don't know the exact name. They look so cool, veldt construction. A pair in Dark Brown would be a top notch.
