Sounds like its just easier for her from an organizational standpoint and so mistakes aren't made...

Right.

And, there seems to be more than one of these GMTO's happening and she does not want to get them mixed up...

Sure.  I know we have at least 2 more people waiting to get on the list...

@Watchman1

Can you put me on that list just in case they drop out?

Yes Sir.

You were one of those whom I spoke of earlier.

You will be one of the first to know.

Thanks.

4 more to go for the Dundee! The wife is going to be so mad... How are you all getting away with what you have?

And I'm still in for the Whiskey Harlech which stalled..which I don't know if it's a blessing or not at this point.

Since it's my first few GMTOs, does it come with anything besides the boots/shoes and shoe bags?

Not trying to detail the GMTO, but just to provide some info so everyone can build in a realistic expectation of what the final price look like - my understanding is that there will be import duty, depend on where you live could be up to 20 -25%, and sometimes there is something call "handling fee". If you are not charged import duty, consider that you are lucky rather than the norm (that is why they deducted Uk tax from the first place)

The actual amount charge will be in GBP - so when converting to USD, there will be certain fee and in my experience the bank will use a less favourable rate than what you converted using google.

And obviously there is around £30 shipping cost.

Again just speaking from my understanding, other members experience could be different

^ Everytime I've ordered from C&J directly they have used ParcelForce and I've never been hit with import fees / taxes. I understand they have recently been using UPS, and as far as I'm aware people are still avoiding, but yes it may be best to plan for having to cough up something upon delivery.

US Import duty on shoes is about 8.5%. Maybe a little bit less if they know what welting is. Maybe a little more if they're lazy and just mark other (10%).
Fedex may charge you about $20 fees when importing. UPS charges a similar amount. DHL is slightly less.
UPS usually collects on delivery. Fedex and DHL will bill you.
USPS collects duty on delivery but no fee.

The chances of actually being hit with customs/duty is slim with USPS; almost certain with UPS; highly likely with Fedex; and likely with DHL.
This is based on my experience. I've bought a lot of stuff from Europe.

The duty free limit for shipments is going up to $800 in a week or so.

I know that paying duty is always a possibility. But knowing the shipping company and who shipped goes a long way towards gauging that possibility.
Based on prior experience with C&J shipments, I would not expect to have to pay anything besides shipping.

Don't forget you're also getting these state sales tax free. (Yes I know that technically in a lot of states you're supposed to be sending in a use tax payment.)

Gentlemen,

I just submitted the Warlow list to Lauren.  There ended up being 20 of us.

I am giving the remaining Gentlemen until the end of day to submit their information, and then we will begin taking on others to fill in those spots.

We have 1 alternate from AAAC and 1 from SF.

@litos

You are on standby Sir.

Thanks.

@Watchman1, thank you for the follow ups and for staying on top of things. I dropped you a PM with the info for Lauren. Your efforts are much appreciated sir.

Heard back from Lauren today regarding the Dundee...

It's going to take a little while to get some details back on the exact boot shaft height as its not a boot they have in stock. I'll update this thread with the info when I get it. I would imagine it to be the same height as the Coniston as it has the same 4 eyelet, 4 speedhook configuration.

In regards to UPS / ParcelForce, it's actually up to us. We can request either service.

We still need 4 more for the Dundee, it seems stuck at 8. This is a real shame :-(
