Possibly also Bespoken ? ( see below regarding Feb)

If have forgotten someone or any more takers please let me know, we need 12 to make this happen ! biggrin.gif

Have received further email from Lauren after speaking to factory, bellows tongue not possible but leather heel tabs as below (on Islays) are. Will incur additional cost which Lauren will inform me of next week;

Please can all takers so far PM me their thoughts on whether want leather heel tab or not?

As nearing Xmas am also thinking might be better to submit this order in February, they will have the Zug leather ready at this time and price will be same before price increases. Again, please can takers so far post or PM their thoughts on this?

Lauren has replied as below regarding leather heel tabs:

The price to have the tabs added on will be an additional £25, therefore the overall cost for this boot with these are below;

1 of, as is - £750
1 of, with pull tabs - £775

Batch order, as is - £460
Batch order, with pull tabs - £485

I hope this helps with your enquiry and if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask and I will be happy to help.

I am thinking ....go for leather heel tabs biggrin.gif ?

Hi everyone,

I am trying to get a pair of C&J made on the rare 367 last, however I can't find any store that stock this. If I want to go and order a MTO, whom should I ask?

I read some of the thread and saw "Lauren" being mentioned a few times, so is she the people in charge of C&J MTOs?

thanks in advance!

Hi Mana,

Send an email to Crockett and Jones via mail order contact page on website:

http://www.crockettandjones.com/retailservices#mailorder

Someone will reply to your MTO request. More often than not it is Lauren, who has been very supportive of making many MTO's happen, both private 'one off 'orders or group MTOs on this site biggrin.gif

Thanks Skyfell, will do that later today.

meanwhile, I didn't see any C&J MTO recently, will that only happen in this thread or there will be separate threads in GMTO subforum?

Whiskey Harlechs just landed today:

All I can say is wow!  Took a little longer since I requested metal toe taps.  I have a few other pairs of C&J but I am absolutely blown away by this pair.  The finishing, quality of the shell, edge dressing are all top notch.  The last is very comfortable for me as well.  I see more C&J in my future as some of my other shoes retire.  Thanks to all who participated and made this possible.

Congratulations and I am sorry!

Looking good in your new Harlechs.

Better late than never. I may take mine to B. Nelson to get a Topy applied to mine. Haven't decided yet. Don't think I will do metal toe tap, but I do have them on my Marlow Wingtips.

CJ does not have the machinery in house to add toe taps so they were sent to a third party.¬† They did a fantastic job, even applied polish to the tap so its only visible from the bottom of the shoe.¬† I walk very toe heavy so taps are a must for me.¬† ¬†‚ÄčHave never applied a topy before to any of my shoes.¬† Have read some life or death commentary regarding their application in the shoe care thread.¬†

B. Nelson did not polish the toe taps to match the sole. That's a nice touch. I'm actually wearing through the metal toe taps on my Marlow Wingtips, but I don't think I generally have that much of an issue with wearing through the toe tips of my soles.

I've been Topying my shoes for over 10 years now and don't think I have ever had an issue myself, so will continue to do so. Much cheaper than getting whole soles replaced.

I've been in touch with Lauren regarding this C&J for RL unlined snuff suede desert boot GMTO. They are able to replicate it as a GMTO. In the C&J range it was referred to as the Ranger chukka.

It was made on the 71 D last (D being the width), and I would be looking to do this on a standard E width, possibly in the 325 last if the 71 last can't accommodate an E width.

Price would be £385 inc. vat or £320 exc. vat. For those of us in the US that equates to ~$478.

Would be an exact replica of this (but new of course):

PM me with any questions.

well, I have received an email from "Pernilla" after sending inquiries from the C&J mail order page, she said "If you let me know what you had in mind I can find out if this would be possible and give you a quote.", I have replied with my specifications and measurements, yet 3 days past and nobody gets back to me.  Is this normal? I am using gmail and I believe my reply is delivered.

Been looking for a snuff suede chukka. Hate the crepe sole though. Interested in something different?

Hi Mana,

Great got reply. Sometimes takes a few days for reply but have always found get reply eventually. They then have to check spec with factory etc. Imagine is pretty busy time for them at moment and sure you will get reply soon. nod[1].gif
