+1

The fact that it is lasted is very appealing and feels like it completes the whole package but it is very pricey

Assuming 20% VAT charge it would be GBP50 not inclusive of VAT.

Yes, but that is not how you do the exclusive VAT calculation.

VAT is added to a price to get the VAT inclusive price.

VAT exclusive price (GBP50) + VAT (GBP10) = VAT inclusive price (GBP60)

This is all assuming VAT is 20%.

With your numbers you get (at 20% VAT):

VAT exclusive price (GBP48) + VAT (GBP9.6) = VAT inclusive price (GBP57.60)

The easiest way to do this calculation is: (VAT inclusive price) divided by (1 + VAT pecentage in hundredths), i.e, GBP 60/1.2 = GBP50

No, It does not work quiet like that. The value added tax is added on the price for example, 100 + 20% VAT = 20. So when you are deducting tax you do not multiply 120 x 20% to deduct the VAT. You have to divide 120 by 1.2 to get 100 the price and 20 VAT. The math can be annoying and I may have not done the best job of explaining this so here is good all calculator just for the VAT calculations.

Guys, speaking of credit cards, most cards will charge a foreign transaction fee of 3% for this purchase.  There are a few cards - discover, united mileage plus visa, venture that don't charge this fee.  I hope that this helps somebody as I don't have any of those cards.  :-)

Capital one does not have foreign transaction fees either.

Hey guys,

Can we make sure that the lining of these boots is not purple. C&J sometimes uses purple lining.

Same here. I sent her an email a bit ago (yesterday morning?) with questions to her and haven't gotten a response back yet.

Hoit1981,

Do you think you could ask Lauren to individually number these boots as they are special number order. Please see the picture in post 192 where it says 12/25. Those shoes were made by C&J for retailer in Sweden and they were limited editions hence the number 12 out of only 25 pairs made. Maybe they can do something similar for us put the number or SF MTO 1, etc or just a number for simplicity sake this would really be nice touch.
