I dunno...maybe.

So how many do we think are interested? 12 sounds like a lot, haha. It's gonna be tough with talks of a whiskey Harlech going around again.

i think purdey or someone stocks a darker coniston like that...

C&J's standard conniston is available in a tan and a blue scotch grain.

could be an MTO also...as the tan conniston is much lighter than that.

EDIT: looking at that again...i think it might just be a standard conniston..with a nice shine ofc

As I understand it, It's std. Coniston given a dark treatment, worn by either Swann or Loïc Joachim. They also show a black version, and i'm guessing that's converted too.

See http://lesfreresjoachim.com.

I guess that color is about right:
http://www.crockettandjones.com/product/coniston-tan

Just from the stock models on the site, I see:
Tan scotch grain
Dark brown scotch grain
Dark brown country calf

But the Coniston is only available in tan & blue (stock models) right?

Correct. The pic on the site looks closer to the pic posted above than I thought.

He gave them the darker brown colour. http://instagram.com/p/hbmlQLzQHe/

I would love a black Coniston, not converted, but done with black leather :)

^ Interesting. So if you were to darker the tan grain leather using a product like Saphir, would the color change be permanent? Or, would you need to keep reapplying the color?

On the fence, might be in for the Harlech. Viberg just announced they will be doing some shell make ups in the near future though...

Gentlemen,

I have some good news. The helpful folks at the Jermyn street location passed my inquiry onto the wonderful Lauren Taylor, who assisted @Hoit1981 with the last whiskey Harlech.Today she sent me this:
Quote:

Yes it is fine for us to go ahead with the order of 6. The price to do this will be £675. When the design details have been finalised please get back to me and we will be able to start the making process of the boots.
Kind regards,

Lauren Taylor

Of course I have followed up to ask whether £675 includes VAT. Based on the previous price of £480 ex-VAT, I would guess that £675 is VAT-inclusive. Either way, I will be in. The bad news is that we only have 6 slots total. Best I could gather, the following 5 members indicated their interest to me first, in this order (do let me know if I’ve gotten this incorrect):

@LeSacre

@tifosi

@S K M

@ErikW

@madridista

And the following expressed interest after the initial 5:

@PartagasIV

@MiamiLex

@aldenfan

@skeen7908

I think it would be most equitable to try to find a consensus among us first 6, and if one decides to drop out, we can figure things out from there. As I stated previously, the planned makeup is as follows:

Harlech on 341 last

Whiskey cordovan
Dainite sole
All eyelets (open to change if a majority prefers speedhooks)

Storm welt

Who's in?

Edits: Fixed some formatting, added Aldenfan to "waiting list"
