I hear you 100%! I am really trying to be more selective but it's soooo hard ;) there is always another makeup I seem to want but yet I don't wear what I have nearly enough. So I went with a pair of PBJ's and Somet's instead...

BootSpell and rydenfan, my dad over the years acquired quite a few pairs of really nice shoes, and what he would do is instead of trying to select from his entire collection, a good 30 to 40 pairs, is he would have a "rotation" of about five pairs which he would wear for a whole month depending on the weather and the time of the year. That way he wouldn't be stymied in the morning selecting footwear. I think it also had to do with what suits he had in the cleaners and which suits and shoes my mom liked and didn't like. He did this for over the fifty years that I can recall. Weird huh?

Hey Be, that's actually a really cool idea. In the long run, they all get about the same amount of wear as doing a rotation of the full collection but at least your dad could focus on just the five pairs every morning. I might actually try something like that. Thanks for sharing.

I've actually been eyeing the Somets for awhile now. But...I already have too many pairs of raw denim. Think I need to focus on shirts now!

They are awesome! Stiff as hell but I think they will break in nicely. Similar fit to the PBJ 13's but a bit more tapered leg. Very high quality construction. The rise is a bit higher being the biggest different. I looked at the low rises but they are like 9"; not sure what kind of guy wears a 9" front rise, but it's not me ;)

I think I'll just wear my dark brown calf Conistons from Barneys (got on sale at a great price) tomorrow and just enjoy what I have. Stop lusting for more stuff and try to be more zen about all this.

Certain Brooks Brothers Sea Island cotton dress shirts are on sale right now for 50% off. Kinda still very spendy, but I like them. I bought two white, English collar and French cuffs, so I'm good. It's a clearance sale, sizes are limited. They're soft as cashmere and smooth as silk. Just an idea. Sometimes you just need to treat yourself to something real nice.

So I hear that our whiskey Harlech MTOs are shipping out tomorrow. So either late next week or the week after we'll start seeing beautiful pics showing up. I am so looking forward to receiving them.

This is a question directed at those of us who didn't step up for the $$$ C&J trees. I'm planning on putting Woodlore Epic's in these Harlech's. I'm a UK 12E (so US 13D) and don't know whether to choose L or XL? I normally use combination cedar shoe trees (from Nordstrom Rack) in size XL but I feel the Epic's might be too big in XL. Anyone have a good idea?

hoit, I can't help you with sizing on the Epics but I use Epics in my brown Harlechs now and if you get the right size, they fill up the toe box really well. I still think you should have opted for the $$$ C&J trees.

I opted for some Carmina trees on my last Carmina mto and it's a special treat when you're receiving a special boot. Just sayin...
