+2, 3, 4, etc…

I think somebody raised this before, using suede, and the group already ruled it out for this one.

I still prefer the oxblood...

Oxblood would be my preference now.

When (if) we open dedicated thread for this project I suggest we also start a poll which color to choose.

A. Willow
B. Burgundy
C. Either of these two.

Oxblood. But since we don't yet have a green light in terms of supply, it's a bit premature.

A man can dream can't he. I vote for the burgundy....with that said I would be open other options. I plan on beating the living s%#! Out of these boots. Mardi Gras sludge beware...zug is coming.

I'm leaning towards Oxblood as well.

I'd be in for this, too!  Open on leather choice, like all the current options.

Sounds interesting, I was considering the Herring Windermere at some point, but this sounds good.

Would it be worth considering a Ridgeway or Medway Sole?

Never heard of Herring or the WIndermere but after doing a search I can say that I would have ordered that boot in burgundy grain immediately if not for the fact that it looks like there is only G width fitting available.

Ridgeway and Medway were floated earlier on but it looks like the group is firmly in favor of commando.

Oxblood would be great.

I think the spec, with stitched toe cap, snowdon 228 last, etc.. would be look very similar (except with the harder wearing zug grain leather) to the C&J for Holland & Holland boots CTBrummie posted about here: http://www.styleforum.net/t/227575/quintessential-crockett-jones-thread/3765#post_6263856

These look fantastic, and I am sure in the zug would look even better.

Happy hunting my friend. Perhaps we should organize a posse.
